Default Heavy Birdcage vs. Heavy Axle Tube vs. Both

Any thoughts or experience on running a heavy LR birdcage versus a heavy LR axle tube, or both?

My thinking or concern is if you put a heavy birdcage on and don't like it for whatever reason, you can just switch it out and be back to square one, whereas with the axle tube that's considerably more work.

Or with the axle tube, the weight is spread out more along the left side of the rearend, but the birdcage would concentrate the weight more towards the LR wheel. Which would be better?

    As always, thanks in advance!

There is no set answer: Some like the tube and some the cage and some a combo and some like nothing at all. Typically a heavy tube is only going to add around 18 to 20# if you already had a std steel tube, where some of the cages will add more and some less.
