    Exclamation Late Model vs Modified

Here are a couple of cool videos of the 2 cars racing each other. The Redneck Racechasers video from Freedom was a really tacky track that night. The #2 car that gave the late model a hard time is actually a 370ci small block (aluminum heads steel block)https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=090M...vx9havGoI&t=4s I believe on a slick track the outcome would have been different as shown in the 2nd video. The 2nd one is a video i took at Woodhull Raceway a few years back, some of the same drivers but on a much slicker track. I always liked these types of races, now if only Woodhull would get a super late show back. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rQvx9havGoI&t=4s

I've seen that second video before and even though the title says they are supers I'm fairly certain that isn't the case. If these guys are ULMS as the video description suggests then they are really crates per the rules. http://ulmsracing.com/ulms-rules/

ULMS changed then, they used to be a super late series with Miley, Briggs, Russell King, Oakes, Satterlee, etc dropping in. Kinda died off I think too.
Up in the air who my next “favorite” driver is. Really losing hope on Bloomer getting anywhere back to “normal”.

That Woodhull Raceway has some beautiful scenery as a backdrop. Being from the flatlands up north, I'm a bit jealous!

They are super lates in the 2nd video. ULMS has never been crates. Actually when i took this video we didnt even have crate lates in the area.

Mods were holding up the late models in both videos. The guy in the vintage modified was making that thing WIDE.

Don't remember seeing a vintage modified in either of those videos. And the one from woodhull, the mods smoked the late models.

In the 2nd Woodhull video, the late models couldn't do anything with those modifieds.

Steve Francis is right. Late models are almost driven like sprint cars nowadays.

That was a rare occurrence. Modifieds are usually 1-1.5 seconds slower than lates. But yeah, in that video, they won handily. And Oakes ain’t bad, I think DuPont was the other guy?

Yeah and then he wrecks the LM when it passes him.
Only in racing does a person knowingly put on a dud show, and then blames everyone else for not appreciating their dud show.
