    Good luck. I've been trying to get some too. I like Mastersbilts but calling them for information is worse than dealing with the IRS.

    2500# at 3.75" on RF. Works for me, anyway.

    Set ride heights and bite to what they want then check them. Then you'll have them.

    Faster than the crossmember for a bumpstop. Don't think it loads to 2500 that often.

    I'd shear the right front right into the wall at that, even at 4.25", Lol. I'd have to be a tazewell hammer down I think for that to work.

    You can't travel 4.25" with a Smackdown. At least not a 2011, the last one I worked on. It would have the frame in the track.

    I am looking to build a spring smasher, what kind of loads are you maxing out at? I want to make sure the components hold up to the loads.

    3k is plenty. You don't likely get to more than 2200 under normal circumstances. I like to draw the curve out to 2500#.

    MB knows his stuff. 100%. I would listen to him. If you’re using these numbers to set bump stop height and limit max travel, it is always a bit better to anticipate slightly higher loads than you normally get. A lot of the times you might actually see that higher number on the track even if the car doesn’t run with that much loading through the corner, things like ruts and dips can cause temporary spikes in the bump too. I’ve found in my experience estimating more force is better than not enough. 2500# @ 3.75” isn’t too bad let’s say you had a motion ratio of 0.75:1, of shock to wheel, and a spring angle that gave you a 90% ACF, you’re really only looking at 1680. If you consider the corner speed, the RS weight transfer from the left, and the fact the engine isn’t too far away from the tire, and braking forces, that’s actually a fairly reasonable number to be using for a maximum load as a baseline. You don’t want the frame hitting the track. So if that’s what you’re left with for travel, you need to take up that weight. A dual stage with a bump would do that nicely, softer rate to get down quicker, locks out and gets stiffer to start accepting a little more weight, and then you don’t have to run a super stiff bump for the final rate when the secondary spring and then bump are engaged together.

    2500# max minus 500# pre load. 2000# into spring. Let’s say we did a 350/600 dual stage with a bump as well. 2”@ 350 taken away from 2000# is 1300 left over. If you travel another 1.2” on a 600# that’s 720, taken away from 1300 leaves you with 580# to eat up. You have 0.55” left of travel and should actually be on the bump at this point. Really is only about 250 left to take up in the bump. @.55” travel. I think your final rate would only end up being like 1000# or so, 600# for the locked out spring and around 400# and change for the 250 pounds needed to be absorbed by the 0.55” or bump travel. Not saying that’s what to run, just kinda doing some numbers out loud here, showing that you could do it and not end up ridiculously stiff compared to what guys are already running on the RF’s with a 350 spring and a bump. And in this case if you come off the bump set up like that, you’re in better shape then guys who go from the bump and ride spring rate to just the ride spring rate when they come off the bump.

    Like mb said. 3k is plenty but I used the door 5k one from optima. Just in case lol. It was only a few dollars more.
