CARTERSVILLE, GA – The NeSmith Weekly Racing Series Week 2 competition will feature 11 events in seven states among four different Divisions. Three of the four NeSmith Weekly Racing Series Divisions have drivers tied for the point lead in their respective National point standings.

The Week 2 action gets underway on Friday night when Hattiesburg Speedway will host the NeSmith Chevrolet Late Model Division and the NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division. On Saturday night, three different tracks will present competition in all four NeSmith Weekly Racing Series Divisions.

On Saturday night, Camden Speedway in Camden, TN, North Alabama Speedway in Tuscumbia, AL and Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL will present the NeSmith Late Models, the NeSmith Street Stocks, the NeSmith Chevrolet Late Model Sportsman Division, and the Durrence-Layne Modified Sportsman Division.

Also on Saturday night seven tracks will join Camden Speedway with their initial 2018 NeSmith Weekly Racing Series debut. Boyd’s Speedway in Ringgold, GA has the NeSmith Street Stocks in action; Chatham Speedway in Chatham, LA has the NeSmith Late Models and the NeSmith Street Stocks.

The Late Models, the Street Stocks and the Late Model Sportsmen will open the 2018 NeSmith WRS season at Columbus Speedway in Columbus, MS, Jackson Motor Speedway in Jackson, MS, and Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, MS.

Enid Speedway in Enid, OK will host the NCRA Late Models that also run for NeSmith Weekly Racing Series National points. Southern Raceway in Milton, FL will open its WRS season by presenting the NeSmith Street Stocks.

There is a six-way tie for the National point lead in the NeSmith Chevrolet Late Model Division among Evan Ellis of Plantersville, MS, Jeff Helms of Centre, AL, Wil Herrington of Cochran, GA, Shannon Lee of Lumberton, MS, Seth McCormack of Muscle Shoals, AL, and Monte Skinner of Saraland, AL.

Five drivers share the National point lead in the NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division. Ricky Idom of Hattiesburg, MS, Dewayne Estes of Sturgis, MS, Jeff Crane of Gadsden, AL, Frank Wilson of Milton, FL, and Wyatt Hill of Finley, TN are all knotted at the top of the list in Street Stocks after Week 1 competition.

Nick Thrash of Meridian, MS, Buddy George of Ragland, AL and Bryson Mitchell of Russellville, AL share the NeSmith Chevrolet Late Model Sportsman Division National point lead with Week 1 wins. Justin Angle is the Durrence-Layne Modified Sportsman Division point leader after winning the first-ever race in that Division last Saturday night at Talladega Short Track.
