Dixie Speedway Hosts Southeastern Classic on Saturday May 12th Paying $5,053 to win

BRASSTOWN, NC (May 8, 2018)—The Schaeffer’s Oil Southern Nationals Bonus Series presented by Sunoco Race Fuels and Tennessee RV will kick-off Mother’s Day weekend in a big way as the tour makes a visit to Dixie Speedway in Woodstock, Ga. on Saturday May 12th paying $5,053-to-win and $500-to-start during the annual Southeastern Classic racing 53 laps in distance.

David Payne of Murphy, N.C. leads the series points heading into this Saturday over Aaron Ridley of Chatsworth, Ga., Chicky Barton of Middlesboro, Ky., Ricky Weiss of Headingly, Manitoba, Canada and Shawn Chastain of Murphy, N.C. Shane Clanton, Ricky Weiss and Shawn Chastain have all won Southern Nationals Bonus Series events this season.

Series Promoter Ray Cook thanked Dixie Speedway for their support of the new safety rules that are already in effect for this season. “I appreciate Dixie Speedway for originally giving our rules a chance. I feel Dixie Speedway and the Swims Family have always been a leader in our sport for the last 48 years of racing,” Cook went on to say. The event was originally scheduled for March 10th but was rained out to its new date of May 12.

On Saturday May 12, the Southeastern Classic also features a full racing program for all divisions plus the 53-lap $5,053-to-win Super Late Model main event, The pit gates will open at 4:00 pm, the grandstands open at 5:00 pm and the driver’s meeting will be at 6:00 pm with hot laps and racing to follow. Adult general admission is $20.00 while Adult Trackside tickets are $25.00 and Adult Pit Passes are $35.00.

The tire rule will be Hoosier 1350 and 1600 along with the American Racer 48 and 56.
