SWEETWATER, TENNESSEE – May 12, 2018 – The Brucebilt Performance Iron-Man Modified Series would conclude a doubleheader weekend of racing action with the tour’s first trip to I-75 Raceway in Sweetwater, TN and Ryan Ayers of Concord, NC would lead all twenty laps and survive a scare on the final lap on his way to the $1,000 win.

The win by Ayers was his first career Brucebilt Performance Iron-Man Modified Series victory and would come aboard the Gary’s Golf Carts, Max Ant Batteries, Brown and Miller Racing Solutions, Pack Racing Springs, Strange Oval sponsored #6 Lethal Chassis, Ramey Race Engines powered mount.

With the drop of the green flag on the event, Ryan Ayers would immediately jump to the race lead, followed by Austin Holcombe, Clayton Miller, Taylor Cook, and Shane Roberts. Ayers would pull away to a comfortable advantage, while second through fifth remained the same, and was set to start working slower traffic on lap eight when the first caution flag of the event appeared when Chase King would have an issue on the backchute, but would be able to continue. Back underway, Ayers would continue to hold the top position, while Holcombe and Miller battled for the second position, with Holcombe able to hold on to the position. The final caution waved on lap twelve when fourth-place running Cook spun his machine in turn four. The remaining circuits would see Ayers in control with no issues until the final lap as Ayers took the white flag and was set to enter turn one, a lapped car drifted up the track and forced Ayers over the edge of the turn one banking, however, Ayers was able to right his machine and never stopped and managed to keep Holcombe coming to the checkered flag to secure the win. Holcombe would score his best ever finish with the series with his second-place effort, while Miller would finish in the third position to complete the podium finishers. Roberts would come home in the fourth spot, while eleventh-place starting Wayne James would complete the top five. The remainder of the top ten finishers would see Cook recover to a sixth place effort, followe by Amos Bunch, Shon Flanary, King, and Michael Woods.

The Brucebilt Performance Iron-Man Modified Series next events will be Friday June 22 at Ponderosa Speedway in Junction City, KY, paying $1,000 to win and Saturday June 23 at Florence Speedway in Union, KY, paying $1,500 to win.
