Mike Roland Memorial for Southern Nationals and Iron-Man Tours Set for Richmond May 19th

BRASSTOWN, NC (May 14, 2018)—On Saturday May 19th at Richmond Raceway in Richmond, Ky., the track will host the Schaeffer’s Oil Southern Nationals Bonus Series presented by Sunoco Race Fuels & Tennessee RV along with the Schaeffer’s Oil Iron-Man Championship Late Model Series presented by DirtonDirt.com. They’ll both co-sanction the Second Annual Mike Roland Memorial.

Lake Cumberland Speedway hosts the first of a Bluegrass State Doubleheader Friday May 18th as both tours will visit Richmond Raceway right up the road on Saturday May 19th paying $10,000-to-win Saturday during the Mike Roland Memorial. Tyler Carpenter captured last year’s Inaugural Mike Roland Memorial at Richmond Raceway event over Zach Dohm, Chase Junghans, Justin Rattliff and Brandon Overton.

This will mark the first-ever visit by the Schaeffer’s Oil Southern Nationals Bonus Series while this will mark the third-ever visit by the Schaeffer’s Oil Iron-Man Championship Late Model tour. 2017 winners by the Iron-Man tour at Lake Cumberland Speedway were Skylar Marlar and Jackie Boggs.

On Saturday May 19th the Super Late Models will compete for the $10,000 first place prize with $500 going to start the 22-car field during the 50-lap event. In addition, the Open Wheel Modifieds will race for $1,000-to-win, the Super Stocks will compete for $750-to-win and the Four Cylinders will race for $500-to-win. The pit gates will open at 2:00 pm, the grandstand gates will open at 4:00 pm, the driver’s meeting will take place at 5:30 pm and hot laps will roll out around 6:00 pm. Adult general admission is $25.00 while adult pit passes are $45.00.

Michael Page of Douglasville, Ga. won the most recent series event at Dixie Speedway on May 12th while David Payne of Murphy, N.C. leads the Schaeffer’s Oil Southern Nationals Bonus Series points. Cory Hedge(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word) of Loudon, Tenn. won the last Schaeffer’s Oil Iron-Man Late Model Series event in February at Volunteer Speedway during the Frostbuster and is the current series points leader.

The tire rule for the weekend at Lake Cumberland Speedway and Richmond Raceway will be Hoosier 1350 and 1600 along with the American Racer 48 and 56. The series entry fee is $100 plus a transponder rental if needed.
