Spring Nationals and Bonus Series Tackle Memorial Day Weekend in Three States for over $92,000

BRASSTOWN NC (May 21, 2018)—The Schaeffer’s Oil Spring Nationals & Southern Nationals Bonus Series presented by Sunoco Race Fuels and Tennessee RV will put the exclamation point on a huge Memorial Day weekend as the tours will visit three states in five days. Over $92,000 in prize money will be distributed in the five-race swing.

On Thursday May 24, the Schaeffer’s Oil Spring Nationals Series will finish the final point races of the season starting off at Crossville Speedway in Crossville, Tenn. for a 40-lap $4,000-to-win and $400-to-start event. The Crate Late Models, Open Wheel Modifieds, Dwarfs, and Front Wheel Drives will also be in action Thursday. The pits and tier parking will open at 4:00 pm, the grandstands will open at 5:00 pm and the driver’s meeting will be at 6:45 pm with hot laps to follow. All times are Central. Grandstand admission is $20.00, Tier Parking is $25.00 and Pit Passes are $40.00. Ricky Weiss won last year’s Spring Nationals Series event at Crossville in a thrilling finish.

On Friday May 25, the Spring Nationals Series travelers visit Boyd’s Speedway in Ringgold, Ga. for another 40-lap $4,000-to-win and $400-to-start event. Along with the Super Late Models, the Limited/Crate Late Models will race for $1,500-to-win, the Sportsman will race for $600-to-win, the Hobby will compete for $350-to-win and the Hot Shots will race for $150-to-win. The pit gates will open at 4:00 pm, the driver’s meeting is set for 6:30 pm and hot laps will roll out at 7:00 pm. Adult general admission is $20.00 with adult pit passes being $35.00. There hasn’t been a repeat Spring Nationals Series winner in the five previous visits by the tour. Vic Hill (2013), Dale McDowell (2014), Donald McIntosh (2015), Mike Marlar (2016) and Brandon Overton (2017) have all been to victory lane.

On Saturday May 26, the Spring Nationals Series visits historic Dixie Speedway in Woodstock, Ga. for the sixth-ever visit paying $5,000-to-win and $450-to-start in a 50-lap feature event. All support classes will be in action on May 26th. Adult general admission is $18.00, adult tailgate is $25.00 per person and adult pit passes are $35.00. The pits will open at 4:00 pm, the stands will open at 5:00 pm and racing set for 7:00 pm. Previous Series winners to Dixie Speedway include: Steve Casebolt, Dale McDowell, Donald McIntosh and Mike Marlar.

On Sunday May 27th, the four-race-stretch of the Spring Nationals concludes at the Rome Speedway in Rome, Ga. racing 50 laps for $6,000-to-win and $500-to-start. All support classes will be in action on May 27th. Adult general admission is $20.00, adult tailgate is $25.00 per person and adult pit passes are $35.00. The pits will open at 4:00 pm, the stands will open at 5:00 pm and racing set for 7:00 pm. Previous Spring Nationals Series winners at Rome Speedway include: Dale McDowell, Jonathan Davenport and Casey Roberts.

On Monday Night May 28th the Schaeffer’s Oil Southern Nationals Bonus Series visits Tri-County Race Track in Brasstown, N.C. for a 40-lap $3,000-to-win and $300-to-start event. The Limited/Crate Late Models ($700-to-win), the Modified Street ($500), Street Stock ($300), Pony ($300), Beginner Class ($200) and Front Wheel Drive ($100) classes will all be in action. The pit gates open at 3:00 pm, the grandstand gates open at 4:00 pm, with the driver’s meeting at 6:00 pm and hot laps rolling out around 6:30 pm. Adult general admission is $18.00 while adult pit passes are $35.00. Previous Southern Nationals Bonus Series winners at Tri-County Race Track include: Shane Clanton, Donald McIntosh, Shawn Chastain, Jonathan Davenport, Austin Smith and Casey Roberts.

The tire rule for Crossville Speedway, Boyd’s Speedway, Dixie Speedway and Rome Speedway will be as follows: Hoosier 1350 and 1600 along with the American Racer 48 and 56. During the Schaeffer’s Southern Nationals Bonus Series visit to Tri-County Race Track on Monday May 28th the tire rule will be as follows: Hoosier 1300, 1350 and 1600 (right-rear option) along with the American Racer 44, 48 and 56 (right-rear option).
