Just a reminder as you plan your week that we are racing Sunday (June 3rd) instead of Friday this week. That'll make 2 Sundays in a row for us which is rare. All a part of working with our friends at Lincoln Speedway to avoid conflicts for all of the racers we share. We'll make it a pretty good time. Make plans to join us. More details coming this week - but racing will again start an hour earlier at 6:00 with grandstands opening at 4:00. Current forecast is a high of 82. It's not a typo. This week the action at Jacksonville Speedway is on a SUNDAY. Six great classes of racing on tap - all for only $12 for an adult grandstand ticket. Ages 12-18 only $5, Kids 11 and under FREE. We start the night out an hour early to allow plenty of time to get home and rested before the work week ahead. Grandstands open at 4:00. Racing action starts at 6:00. If the Friday rush from work to the race track... or kid activities... or a spouse with a big social calendar has been keeping you away - this is your night to pay us a visit! Come out and enjoy the most action-packed entertainment in Central Illinois this Sunday at Jacksonville Speedway.

It's RACE DAY! A Sunday Race Day. A very, very beautiful Sunday Race Day with a race time forecast of Sunny and 80 degrees with a breeze. Perfect. Running order for tonight is: 305 Sprints, Street Stocks, Modifieds, Big Ten Pro Late Models, Micros and Hornets. Famous Last words and a bad thing to put on paper in advance because it's inviting an unforeseen delay - but our realistic goal/plan is to start the first feature before 7:30, have the Pro Late Model feature finished before 8:30 and the final checkered flag flying before 9pm to allow plenty of time for our racers and fans to get home. I think we can do that barring any major issues as that's about what our time frame has been lately. As always, racer checks are printed and available for pick-up in the bar area within minutes of your feature finish. Pit gates open at 3:00. Grandstands open at 4:00. Driver Registration closes at 5:00. Tonight's drivers meeting will be a printed paper you receive at pill draw. Ask any questions there - so 305's should be in staging for hot laps at 5:20 with Street Stocks ready to follow. Be there please. Opening Ceremonies/Heat Races at 6:00. A little later this morning drivers who have raced with us previously should receive a text from the racer communication number 217-645-6426 asking if you plan to race with us tonight. This is more of a test than anything this week as we work on our computerized two way texting - but you can now reply to this number that has been sending you lineup texts. Otherwise, text Kenny at 217-371-3653 if you have any questions. Grandstand admission is $12. Ages 12-18 $5. Kids 11 and under Free. And last but not least we have a new member of our team to introduce. Justin McMurphy has agreed to join us as our race night grandstand manager/host. A lot of you probably know Justin from his work here in town and his countless hours of helping the Kiwanis and other organizations. Justin is going to make sure things go smoothly for our fans and be their main point of contact in the grandstands. He will be sitting in the front row near the tunnel when not doing other things. Hedoesnt realize it yet, but the most intense 3 minutes of his night each week will be making sure the National Anthem actually starts and plays and finishes and is loud enough for people to hear. At least that was always my most nervous part of the night. If you screw up the National Anthem the rest of the night is doomed! Hope to see a lot of you tonight at Jacksonville Speedway.
