CARTERSVILLE, GA – Week 12 of the 27-week 2018 Durrence Layne Weekly Racing Series season will feature 17 races among the four Divisions in eight different states that include Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Tennessee, Louisiana, Kansas, and Nebraska. There will be four events on Friday night, 12 races contested on Saturday night, and one run on Sunday night.

Hattiesburg Speedway in Hattiesburg, MS will host the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Division and the Durrence Layne Street Stock Division on Friday night. Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, MS will open its Clash At The Mag on Friday night that will include the Late Models and the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Sportsman Division.

Moulton Speedway in Danville, AL will be in action on Friday night with the Late Model, Street Stock, and the Late Model Sportsman Divisions competing. Oglethorpe Speedway Park in Savannah, GA will host the Late Models this Friday night.

Camden Speedway in Camden, TN, North Alabama Speedway in Tuscumbia, AL, and Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL will have all four Durrence Layne Weekly Racing Series Divisions in action with the Late Models, Street Stocks, Late Model Sportsmen, and the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Modified Sportsman Division.

Talladega Short Track was rained out in the middle of the its feature races last weekend. They got in the Week 11 Late Model race, but this Saturday night, they will have Double Features for the Street Stocks, Late Model Sportsmen, and the Modifieds. The first feature will be the Week 11 Make-Up Race, and the second feature will be the regularly scheduled Week 12 race.

Chatham Speedway in Chatham, LA will present the Late Models and the Street Stocks on Saturday night, and Cochran Motor Speedway in Cochran, GA will host the Late Models this Saturday night.

The Late Models will be in action this Saturday night at 81 Speedway in Wichita, KS in a race co-sanctioned with NCRA. ECM Speedway in Arkadelphia, AL will have the Late Models, Street Stocks, and the Late Model Sportsmen on Saturday night.

Flomaton Speedway in Flomaton, AL will present the Street Stocks on Saturday night, and Junction Motor Speedway in McCool Junction, NE has the Late Models in action on Saturday night. Magnolia Motor Speedway will have the Late Models and the Late Model Sportsmen for their Saturday night Clash At The Mag show.

Southern Raceway in Milton, FL will host the Street Stocks on Saturday night, and Winchester Raceway Park in Winchester, TN will present the Late Models and the Street Stocks in action on Saturday night. The lone Sunday night race will feature the Late Models at Dawson County Raceway in Lexington, NE.

Sid Scarbrough of Florence, MS leads the Late Model National point standings over Shannon Lee of Lumberton, MS by 16 points, 539 to 523. Steve Russell of Pontotoc, MS is third with 513 points and the 2012 National Champion Chase Washington of Houlka, MS is fourth with 480 points. Tim Dees of Meridian, MS is fifth with 472 points.

Lee Ray of Columbus, MS leads the Street Stock National standings with 520 points, and Bryan Fortner of Millport, AL is eight points back in second with 512 points. Ricky Idom of Hattiesburg, MS is third with 498 points, Steve Maughan is fourth with 485 points, and Michael Blount of Sumrall, MS is fifth with 479 points.

Tody Ratcliff of Meridian, MS is the point leader in the Late Model Stock Division with 494 points, followed by Bryson Mitchell of Russellville, AL in second with 460 points, and Brandon Crosby is third with 438 points. Blake Ray is fourth with 430 points, and Heather Lowe is fifth with 397 points.

Andy Davis is the point leader in the Modified Sportsman Division with 311 points. Ron Bailey is second with 306 points, and Chris Yarbrough is third with 274 points. Justin Angle of Anniston, AL is fourth with 273 points, and Oakley Gillespie rounds out the top five with 267 points.

Drivers in the Durrence Layne Weekly Racing Series compete for both a track point fund and a National point fund during a 27-week season that will run through September 30. A driver’s best 14 weekly point totals will count as their National points total. The top ten drivers in each of the four Divisions will be honored at the Durrence Layne Weekly Racing Series National Awards Banquet at the Georgia Racing Hall of Fame in Dawsonville, GA.
