CARTERSVILLE, GA – Week 14 marks the halfway point of the 27-week 2018 Durrence Layne Weekly Racing Series season. A few drivers have one more week to earn full points before they begin netting points by trying to replace the lowest weekly total among their best 14 with a higher one.

Week 14 will have 14 races in seven different states on the schedule of events with four races on Friday night, and ten races on Saturday night. There are also three races on the schedule for early next week that will open Week 15 Durrence Layne Weekly Racing Series competition.

Hattiesburg Speedway in Hattiesburg, MS will open Durrence Layne Weekly Racing Series Week 14 action on Friday night with a Double Feature event for the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Division and the Durrence Layne Performance Parts Street Stock Division. The first feature will be a Week 12 Make Up race, and the second race will be the regularly scheduled Week 14 event.

Moulton Speedway in Danville, AL will be in action on Friday night with the Late Models, Street Stocks, and the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Sportsman. Oglethorpe Speedway Park in Savannah, GA will present the Late Models on Friday night, and Columbus Speedway in Columbus, MS will host the Street Stocks and Late Model Sportsman on Friday night.

Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL will highlight Saturday night Durrence Layne Weekly Racing Series action as the only track to feature all four Divisions with the Late Models, Street Stocks, Late Model Sportsman, and the Durrence Layne Modified Sportsman Division in action.

Boyd’s Speedway in Ringgold, GA will be in action just outside Chattanooga, TN this Saturday night, as the Street Stocks will join the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series Touring Division in the opening race of the Salute To America Nationals.

ECM Speedway in Arkadelphia, AL and Jackson Motor Speedway in Jackson, MS will each present the Late Models, Street Stocks and Late Model Sportsman in action this Saturday night. Duck River Raceway Park in Lewisburg, TN and Greenville Speedway in Greenville, MS will host the Late Models and Street Stocks this Saturday night.

North Alabama Speedway in Tuscumbia, AL will have the Late Models and the Late Model Sportsmen in action this Saturday night. Chatham Speedway in Chatham, LA and Junction Motor Speedway in McCool Junction, NE will present the Late Models, while Southern Raceway in Milton, FL will host the Street Stocks.

Talladega Short Track will return to action on Tuesday night to open Durrence Layne Weekly Racing Series Week 15 competition with Week 9 Make-Up features for the Late Model Sportsman and Modified Sportsman Divisions. This will be a part of the third and final Salute To America Nationals event for the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series National Touring Division.

Two other early Week 15 races will be at Flomaton Speedway in Flomaton, AL on Wednesday night with a $1,000-to-win Street Stock race, and on Thursday night at Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, MS with the Late Models, Street Stocks, and Late Model Sportsmen.

Sid Scarbrough of Florence, MS leads the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Division National standings with 628 points. Steve Russell of Pontotoc, MS is second with 604 points, and Shannon Lee of Lumberton, MS is third with 567 points. Tim Dees of Meridian, MS is fourth with 563 points and Braden Mitchell of Russellville, AL is fifth with 539 points.

Steve Maughan of Florence, AL is the Durrence Layne Performance Parts Street Stock Division National point leader with 580 points. Lee Ray of Columbus, MS is second with 568 points, and Bryan Fortner of Millport, AL is third with 562 points. Chad Winkles of Hartselle, AL is fourth with 555 points and Ricky Idom of Hattiesburg, MS is fifth with 548 points.

Brandon Crosby of Anniston, AL leads the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Sportsman Division standings with 579 points. Bryson Mitchell of Russellville, AL is second with 555 points, and Tody Ratcliff of Meridian, MS is third with 539 points. Blake Ray of Russellville, AL is fourth with 529 points and Heather Lowe of Warrior, AL is fifth with 488 points.

Andy Davis of Argo, AL leads the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Modified Sportsman standings with 429 points. Justin Angle of Anniston, AL and Chris Yarbrough of Eastaboga, AL are tied for the second spot with 390 points apiece. Oakley Gillespie of Five Points, TN is fourth with 346 points, and Ron Bailey of Huntsville, AL is fifth with 345 points.

Drivers in the Durrence Layne Weekly Racing Series compete for both a track point fund and a National point fund during a 27-week season that will run through September 30. A driver’s best 14 weekly point totals will count as their National points total. The top ten drivers in each of the four Divisions will be honored at the Durrence Layne Weekly Racing Series National Awards Banquet at the Georgia Racing Hall of Fame in Dawsonville, GA.
