    JUNCTION CITY, KENTUCKY- August 18, 2018- Ponderosa Speedway will present one of its biggest events of the season as the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series invades the track better known as “Kentucky’s Baddest Bullring” on Friday August 31 for the 14th Annual John Bradshaw Memorial, paying $12,000 to the winner, plus racing competition for the Crate Late Models ($800 to win), KDRA Super Stocks ($600 to win), and KDRA Four Cylinders ($500 to win).

    The 14th Annual John Bradshaw Memorial will take place on Friday August 31 at Ponderosa Speedway and will feature the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series Super Late Models in competition for $12,000 to win and $1,000 to start. Joining the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series competitors for action at the 14th Annual John Bradshaw Memorial will be the track’s Crate Late Models racing for $800 to win, KDRA Super Stocks racing for $600 to win, and KDRA Four Cylinders racing for $500 to win.     There is no entry fee for the Crate Late Model, KDRA Super Stock, and KDRA Four Cylinder divisions and rules for these divisions are on the track’s website at www.ponderosaspeedway.net. Drivers competing in the Crate Late Model, KDRA Super Stock, and KDRA Four Cylinder divisions that do not make the 18-car starting field in their respective divisions will receive $35 tow money. The track uses transponder timing/scoring in all divisions and transponder rental for the event will be $10. In addition, there will be an additional $100 to winner of the KDRA Super Stock feature and KDRA Four Cylinder if either division has 18 or more entries.

    There will be no reserved seating for this event. Seating will be on a first-come, first-serve basis on the day of the race only. Lawn chairs will be allowed on the top row only of the general admission grandstand area. Any media requesting credentials for this event but have a media credential request form filled out from the track’s website and turned in via e-mail to Chris Tilley no later than Sunday August 25.

    Activities for the 14th Annual John Bradshaw Memorial at Ponderosa Speedway on Friday August 31 will see the pit area open at 2:00 p.m., while the general admission area will open at 4:00 p.m. The driver’s meeting will take place at 7:00 p.m., with practice laps set to begin at 7:30 p.m. Ticket prices for the 14th Annual John Bradshaw Memorial on Friday August 31 in the general admission area will be $30 for adults, while children ages 10 and under will be free. In the pit area, a pit pass for adults will be $45, while children ages 10 and under are free with a signed parent waiver.

    The John Bradshaw Memorial event is held each year at Ponderosa Speedway to honor the memory of the late Mr. Bradshaw, who was a former promoter at the track and was operating the track at the time of his untimely death in 2003. The event was first held at the track in late 2003 as part of the track’s Fall Classic that year and was won by Johnny Wheeler of Campbellsville, KY. Benji Lee of Loretto, KY would win the event in 2004, while Eddie Carrier, Jr. would claim victory in the event in 2005 and 2010. Greg Johnson of Bedford, IN would score the event win in 2006, while Mike Marlar of Winfield, TN would hit paydirt in the event in 2007, while also winning the race in 2014 and 2015. In 2008, Rob Blair of Titusville, PA would win the event in his first and only visit to the track, while Victor Lee of Danville, KY would be victorious in the 2009 edition of the race. Eric Wells of Hazard, KY would claim the event victory in 2011, while Brad Neat of Dunnville, KY would claim his only win in the event in 2012. The event would not be contested in 2013 and 2017. When the event was last held in 2016, Scott Bloomquist of Mooresburg, TN would score the event victory over Tim McCreadie, Dennis Erb, Jr., Greg Johnson, and Don O’Neal
