Anyone have a link that shows how the passing points are calculated? I don't see any diagram on I-80 speedway website.

Most times a chart like this is used:
    http://florencespeedway.com/drivers/...ts-procedures/
In his first heat Bloomquist started 1st finished 1st for 59 points.
In his second heat Bloomquist started 9th finsihed 2nd for 67.32 for a total of 126.32.
You get points for your finishing position and 1.76 points for each car you pass.
You'd be pulling your hair out trying to figure this all out sitting in the grandstand.

Should just be a simple format like cars passed. Bloomquist, Zeigler and Hudson all passed 7 cars. They start 1-2-3. Don O'Neal passed 6 cars he starts 4th and so forth and so on. Davenport passed 5 cars so hes alittle further back. If the cutoff position is tied then it goes off best finish. Would be an easier format to keep up with in the stands.

All you need to do is go by average finish. It’s not overly complicated.

99 percent of the time. The guy with the highest average finish is gonna have higher passing points. Bloomer had a 1.5 average finish.

Sounds like an idea for a smart phone/android app. Track could offer it for download from their website, for a small fee of course. See, the internet and social media can be good for dirt track racing after all.
