Default Rookie question LF Take up spring??

What effect would not having a take up spring on the left front do? I now notice bviously as the car is up on the bars it needs one. Trying to source one out before tomorrow

A traditional take-up spring, where the rate is too low to effect handling (say 10# or so) only serves to keep the springs lined up and protect the shock body and to ensure the spring stays on the cup at the bottom.

Thanks... how about a take up that is significantly stiffer? Or, chaining the lf to where the coilover is just touching the top of the shock as the LR is at full droop?
