R.J. Conley Captures $3,000 Buckeye Late Model Dirt Week Win at Moler!

(WHEELERSBURG, OHIO) The Conley Motorsports, Inc. teams were busy with the start of Buckeye Late Model Dirt Week in a trio of $3,000 to win programs from July 26-28. On Thursday night in the opener at Atomic Speedway in Alma, Ohio, R.J. Conley won his heat race and took the lead briefly in the 40-lap feature event until a tangle with a lapped car shortly after the halfway mark dropped him to a disappointing fifteenth place finish. Rod Conley placed third in heat race action prior to passing eleven competitors during the main event to secure an impressive runner-up effort behind only victor Eddie Carrier, Jr. Delmas Conley, the patriarch of the racing Conley clan, ran second in his loaded heat race, but later started at the tail in the A-Main and retired early in the twenty-fourth position.

At Moler Raceway Park in Williamsburg, Ohio on Friday evening, R.J. dominated the night to score his fourth feature win of the 2018 campaign! R.J. qualified second fastest in time trials, won the fast dash, and later led all forty circuits in the headliner to bag the $3,000 payday ahead of Tim Dohm, Steve Casebolt, Josh Rice, and Cody Mahoney. His brother Rod won his heat race before starting/finishing eighth in the 40-lap affair at MRP.

The tripleheader weekend then concluded on Saturday at Wayne County Speedway in Orrville, Ohio with another $3,000 to win shootout. "Hot Rod" led the charge by qualifying well, finishing fourth in the fast dash, and climbing to third in the feature to trail only race winner Chub Frank and runner-up Mike Maresca. R.J. won his heat race, but slipped back to fourteenth in the running order with a tight racecar before climbing back up to seventh by the drop of the checkered flag. All three Conley Motorsports, Inc. (CMI) drivers – Delmas, Rod, and R.J. Conley - have the same upcoming weekend schedule on August 3-4, as the Buckeye Late Model Dirt Week wraps up with two more special events in southern Ohio. On Friday night, Brushcreek Motorsports Complex in Peebles, Ohio will take center stage by hosting a $3,000 to win showdown. The miniseries will then conclude on Saturday evening at Portsmouth Raceway Park in Portsmouth, Ohio where a $5,000 top prize will be on the line in the grand finale.
