National Dirt Late Model Hall of Fame Auction & New Class Induction 8/11 at Florence

NDLMHoF AUCTION AND NEW CLASS INDUCTION AUGUST 11TH AT FLORENCE SPEEDWAY
August 2nd, 2018

The 2018 NDLMHoF Class will be inducted on Saturday August 11th at 4:30 EST on the front-stretch stage of the King’s Florence Speedway in Union Kentucky prior to the running of the Lucas Oil sanctioned North-South 100.

This year’s class includes Indiana’s Steve Barnett, Iowa’s Don Hoffman, Wisconsin’s Jimmy Mars, West Virginia’s Steve Shaver and Arkansas’ Wendell Wallace in the drivers category. Honored contributors to be added to the Hall are car owners Dottie and the late Lee Byers, Cedar Lake Wisconsin Speedway founders the Cook family and longtime Dirt Late Model photographer Tony Hammett. Lifetime Achievement awards will be presented to shock specialist the late Mike Farr and veteran dirt campaigner Bubby James.

An auction to help benefit the Hall’s building expansion fund will be held at the Hall of Fame facility at 1:00 PM on Saturday afternoon August 11th. A number of items have been generously donated to be bid upon including door panels from many of the country’s top Dirt Late Model performers such as Scott Bloomquist’s from his recent 600th career win. Also available will be a number of special race ticket packages and various Dirt Late Model related pieces. Everyone is welcome to attend to help support the Hall’s future.

Just wondering when fans will see some sort of work on the hall of fame building seems they have this auction every year but no building improvements

We have a minimum goal before we can begin the expansion. This is a significant monetary undertaking. When we arrive at that minimum account balance we can start work on the building. We had hoped that we might find some larger benefactors that would make things go faster but that just hasn't happened. We are working hard towards that goal with our fund raising. Check the ticker posted on the door of the HoF to see where we are and where we need to get to.
