Dennis Erb, Jr. Back on Lucas Oil Tour this Week at Florence Highlighted by North/South 100

(CARPENTERSVILLE, ILLINOIS) After a couple of weeks off, the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series schedule heats back up this week with three lucrative events at the venerable Florence Speedway in Union, Kentucky. Dennis Erb, Jr., who sits thirteenth in the heated series point standings, will be in action later tonight, August 8 at the undersized 1/2-mile speedplant in the rain-postponed ‘Ralph Latham Memorial.’ A full show, which was originally scheduled for May 5, will be held tonight and a $12,000 top prize will be on the line in the 50-lap main event.

Another complete LOLMDS program will be on tap on Thursday, August 9 at the Cincinnati-area oval. The ‘North/South Shootout’ will be highlighted by another 50-lap feature event that will boast a $10,000 winner’s check. Friday’s action will include preliminary events for the 36th Annual ‘North/South 100’ headlined by two rounds of heat race action for the cars and stars racing with the LOLMDS. Passing points from each round will determine the lineups for Saturday’s consolation events and the ‘North/South 100.’

The 2018 National Dirt Late Model Hall of Fame induction ceremony will then kick off the festivities on Saturday, August 11 followed by the Super Late Model B-Mains. Once each starting spot is filled, the ‘North/South 100’ will take center stage and a whopping $50,000 payday is once again up for grabs in the 100-lap crown jewel headliner. The hectic week of racing at Florence Speedway will then be capped off with a 30-lap, $2,000 to win Non-Qualifiers Race. Dennis’ best run recently in the ‘North/South 100’ came in 2016 when he crossed underneath the checkered flag in the sixth position. Dennis Erb Racing is coming off a busy week in the Badger State of Wisconsin from July 30-August 4, which saw them compete in four high-profile World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series showdowns. Action then turned to the renowned Cedar Lake Speedway in New Richmond, Wisconsin for the annual ‘USA Nationals,’ but Dennis was unfortunately not able to advance into either feature including Saturday’s $50,000 to win finale.
