    Default Xr1 roll cage

    Always hear about how safe this car is compared to the others well look at rj Conley’s xr1 at Portsmouth’s bob miller memorial race when he rolled it in turns 1 and 2 during the heat race the cage is bent bad and if I recall he is still a little banged up

    Did you not see how many times that car smacked the ground hard? There’s no such thing as a “safe” race car but they try there best to make them as safe as possible

    Swartz cars are considered safe. Honestly, no one tries their best. Roll cages could be built much more stout. But, it hasn't been done and then the work done to make the car fast again.

    @Dlmfan123

    You don't see the cages on Cup cars bending when they roll at 200 mph.

    Asphalt cars are a different animal entirely when it comes to stiffness.

    Sure, but what I was responding to was someone making it sound like it's not possible to keep a dirt car roll cage from bending.

    Jason Jamesons car bent in the same exact spot at the N/S, and it's not a rocket. I dont know what you're trying to say? I'm sure it's happened to them all at some point.

    And Cup cars weigh how much more than a dirt late model. Approx 3400lbs. vs 2400lbs. and most of that is frame related.

    I heard there was part of that cage missing before the roll? But, none of them are heavy enough.

    If it was, I must not have seen it. It bent right at the window bars and left front corner.

    I am not sure the missing piece, a bolt in, would have helped that corner. As long as the rear hoop holds up, a guy should be ok anyway.

    Don’t Swartz cars tend to be a little taller then everybody else’s?

    I agree. The more distance you can get between the driver’s head and the top of the halo, the better.
