Something has to change with this tire fiasco this year, so many flats at every race

Can the integrity of the tire just simply not hold up to the power of the engines now and the down force?

That is what I was wondering also, if that's the case well Hoosier maybe you will have to make a better tire

Then the next question is is it on Hoosier or the drivers/teams. Remember when Toyota came into Nascar they were breaking alot of motors but the cars were running strong. Then they went back and toned them down a bit ams worked on other areas of the cars and it reduced the failures. Then they started to finish races more and then the wins finally came and now look at them.

I think we can all agree that they will have to be tuned down. We always want to see faster but it has to stop somewhere

Seems as the they would do that to not taking the risk and finding something else to counter it.

I think it's the drivers in a lot of cases. Clanton seems to thru a lot of RR tires but that's his driving style throttle to the floor car blazing rear tires anyone with that driving style is gonna lose RR tires he is just the first driver that popped in my head. Hated to see Overton lose tire. I think if T Mac had got there sooner he was faster than Madden but Madden said his motor had a miss from about lap 15.

Rome has 2 things that cause RR tire issues. First there are a lot of rocks in the clay. Some bigger than others, but all seem to have sharp edges to them. And second the track is pretty much wide open with little break for the RR so it will build a lot of heat. When we raced there years ago the plan we had the best luck with was to put a brand new 55 on the RR for Saturday at Dixie, then run that tire the next night at Rome. Whenever we had to put a new tire on the RR at Rome we blistered it to the point of it chunking out.

Everybody kept trashing the DB team for breaking awhile back, it seems Zeigler has the same problem. He's broke 3 motors in the last few weeks. His maintenance program must suck just as bad 🙄

I seen that it said that on his Facebook page. The same thing has happened to Bobby this year, and it was the teams fault according to this place.

I hate Richards and Overton both had flats... they were having a good battle for the lead!

I'm not talking about this track, all of them. Are the tires worse if that's possible or is it too much power grip etc. used to not see so many flats everywhere like this year. Yes some tracks are known to be a little harder on then I agree
