Default Photo of the 49 at Rome

His car being so sealed to the ground here is just unreal. Compare to the cars in the bottom link from 10 years ago: https://www.facebook.com/lucasdirt/p...type=3&theater https://www.stlracingphotos.com/Fede...dels/i-w5zvPD8

Yep super ugly, the rf looks boken, shoved up in the very disproportionate nose, that pic is a big reason dlm racing is in the state it is in today...

That pose is not unique to the 49 car. I.ve seen picks of numerous others that appear the same way. I will agree they have changed over the years.

While it may be true aerodynamics have caused racing to "be in the state it is today" as far as costs... when comes strictly to looks, I have to disagree. IMO the cars today, the way they seal off and the travel in the RF, the noses, the bodies curvature and all that, look better than ever. As Mark Martin put it the cars are the "sexiest" cars on the racetrack today. Just my opinion.

Check out the front spoiler that is holding the front of the nose down.

The left end nose piece looks good, hate the right side for the aero advantage.

I hear ya, they dont look bad sealed off but to look like that sealed off they have to look like a baha truck with all the space in the rf wheelwell and the 6 inch right side door, very ugly sitting there in staging. And ive made this comment before but everything looks the best in real modern time..I. 2002 you thought the cars were the best they ever looked, now they look outdated..I think in 15 years we will look back and say d*mn those were some ugly cars...

Looking at that pic of Davenport, I couldn't help but notice nutrien ag on the nose. That's the name/company that bought out crop production. Wasnt they sponsoring bloomer before?

Ten years ago, lots of cars were still carrying the left front through the corner. The right sides tended to be just as short and sealed off. As the setups calmed down, the aero advantages quickly caught up.
