    BRASSTOWN, NORTH CAROLINA – November 2, 2018 – The Schaeffer’s Oil Southern Nationals Bonus Series presented by Sunoco Race Fuels and Tennessee RV will conclude the 2018 racing campaign will the tour’s annual season-ending visit to Boyd’s Speedway in Ringgold, GA for The Gobbler/Joe Lee Johnson Memorial event, paying $5,000 to win on Friday November 16 and Saturday November 17. In addition, the Brucebilt Performance Iron-Man Modified Series will also be in action in a non-point paying event, with the winner earning $1,200 for their efforts.

    The Friday November 16 portion of The Gobbler/Joe Lee Johnson Memorial will see open practice take place throughout the evening for the Schaeffer’s Oil Southern Nationals Bonus Series Super Late Models and Brucebilt Performance Iron-Man Modified Series competitors, along with practice for the Crate Late Models, and Sportsman Late Models. There will also be racing action on Friday November 16 that will feature the Hobby division racing for $500 to win, Street Stocks racing for $300 to win, Hot Shots racing for $300 to win, and the Driver Development division racing for $200 to win. There will be no entry fees in any of these divisions, but a fifteen-car minimum in each division is required to keep the purse amounts in each division. On Friday November 16, the drivers meeting will take place at 7:00 p.m., followed immediately by hot laps.

    On Saturday November 17, the Southern Nationals Bonus Series Super Late Models will be in action in The Gobbler/Joe Lee Johnson Memorial series finale event of the 2018 season, racing for $5,000 to win. In addition, Open Wheel Modifieds will make only their second-ever appearance at Boyd’s Speedway on Saturday November 17, racing for $1,200 to win in a non-point paying series event. Other divisions in action at Boyd’s Speedway on Saturday November 17 will be the track’s Crate Late Models ($1,500 to win/$100 to start/$75 entry fee) and Sportsman Late Models ($1,000 to win/$75 to start/$50 entry fee). For the Crate Late Model and Sportsman Late Model divisions, a fifteen-car minimum in each division is required to keep purse amounts in each division. On Saturday November 17, the drivers meeting will take place at 4:00 p.m., followed immediately by hot laps in each division.

    For race teams staying overnight in the pit area after Friday night’s racing program can do so as the pit area is scheduled to stay open throughout the night for easy access in and out of the facility. Support divisions will use transponders as well for timing/scoring purposes and the rental fee is $10. Concrete parking pads in the pit area will also be available on a first-come, first-serve basis and can be secured at the pit gate for $20. In addition, suite rental is also available for this event and can be made by contacting Jason Jones for more information at (706) 229-2514.

    Activities for the weekend’s events that begin on Friday November 16 will see the pit gates open at 3:00 p.m., while the general admission area will open at 5:00 p.m. Ticket prices on Friday November 16 in the general admission area will be $15 for adults, with children ages 12 and under free. A pit pass will be $30 for adults, with children ages 6 to 12 in the pit area $10, while children age 5 and under will be free. The weekend concludes on Saturday November 17, with the pit area set to open at 10:00 a.m., with the general admission area opening at 1:00 p.m. Ticket prices for Saturday November 17 in the general admission area will be $20 for adults, while children ages 12 and under free. Pit passes will be $35 for adults, with children in the pit area ages 6 to 12 being $10, while children age 5 and under are free.

    The Super Late Model portion of the program at Boyd’s Speedway will be sanctioned by the Schaeffer’s Oil Southern Nationals Bonus Series presented by Sunoco Race Fuels and Tennessee RV. The entry fee will be $100, plus transponder rental for timing/scoring purposes. The Super Late Model tire rule will be as follows: Hoosier 1350 and 1600 and American Racer 48 and 56 on all four corners of the race cars. Random tire samples will be taken by the series. Drivers not making the feature event will receive $50 tow money each night. In addition, there will be a $200 bonus to the highest finishing driver utilizing a CT525 engine package and a $200 bonus to the highest finishing driver utilizing an All Steel/SPEC engine package.

    The Brucebilt Performance Iron-Man Modified Series will sanction the Open Wheel Modified portion of the program at Boyd’s Speedway on Saturday November 17, however, it will be a non-points event. The entry fee will be $25, plus transponder rental for timing/scoring purposes. The Open Wheel Modified tire rule will be as follows: Hoosier M30 or M60 and American Racer Hard and Extra Hard. The Hoosier M60 and American Racer Extra Hard is an option on the right rear of the cars and all tires can be siped, but no grooving of any tire is allowed. Random tire samples will be taken by the series. Drivers not making the feature event will receive $25 tow money.
