Season Championship Cancelled, Klaasmeyer Takes National Title, Schudy Tops West League

Belleville, IL – This weekend’s Season Championship featuring both the POWRi Lucas Oil National and West Midget Leagues has unfortunately succumbed to rain. “With the amount of rain that we have had over the past week, coupled with low temperatures and more rain in the forecast, we are going to have to cancel this weekend,” commented Kennedale Speedway promotor Bo Rowden. “In trying to be mindful of the travel time for many of the teams, we waited as long as we could. Mother Nature has not been kind to the racing community of Texas this year.”

“We hate to see the season end on a rainout like this for both the POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget League and POWRi Lucas Oil West Midget League,” said POWRi Director of Competition Jason McCord. “But on a high note, congratulations to our newest champions, Tucker Klaasmeyer for the National League and Kory Schudy for the West League.”

With the cancellation of the Season Championship, current point leader for the POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget League, Tucker Klaasmeyer now becomes the 2018 POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget League Champion. Kory Schudy, the current point leader for the POWRi Lucas Oil West Midget League will be crowned as the 2018 POWRi Lucas Oil West Midget League Champion.

The POWRi season-ending championship banquet will be held on Saturday, January 26th 2019. The banquet will honor the top-ten in each division.

BIG congrats to Tucker. We've been watching him race since his mini sprint days. Nice kid who has good Kansas manners.

Got to see Tucker race a half dozen times this summer and he seems to be getting better with every race. The POWRi deal is not an easy championship to win and he deserves all the accolades.
