Turkey Night Grand Prix is the second oldest continuing open wheel event in the country, second only to The Indianapolis 500!

LARGEST TURKEY NIGHT FIELD IN 20 YEARS SET FOR THURSDAY AT VENTURA

Ventura, California (November 19, 2018)………The largest field of drivers for the “Turkey Night Grand Prix” since 1998 is ready to go for the 78th installment of the prestigious Thanksgiving night race this Thursday, November 22, at California’s Ventura Raceway.

Among the 67 expected entries for the USAC P1 National National Midgets and Light Up The World Beverages USAC Western States Midgets is a stacked driver lineup featuring the best-of-the best from a variety of racing disciplines, including past “Turkey Night” winners Kyle Larson (2012 & 2016), Christopher Bell (2014 & 2017) and 2015 winner Tanner Thorson heading the list.

Also entered is 2018 USAC National Midget champ Logan Seavey, 2014 champion Rico Abreu, plus 2018 feature winners Tyler Courtney, Justin Grant, Chad Boat, Spencer Bayston, Zeb Wise and Brady Bacon as well as Western States winners Alex Schutte, Michael Faccinto, Damion Gardner, Shane Golobic and Jake Swanson along with USAC Triple Crown champ Jerry Coons, Jr., USAC/CRA's winningest sprint car driver Damion Gardner and past Western States Dirt champ David Prickett among many others.

Ooo! Geoff Ensign is tough in Cali, wing & non-wing, but I've never seen him in a midget. He's known as the, "Human Highlight Reel". I'll be pulling for him and of course, Justin Grant, but I imagine Logan Seavey, Rico Abreau and Tanner Thorson will have something to say about it.

CBell and Larson will make their presence known, as well.

We were fortunate enough to make the trip west for Turkey Night back in 2012. It was held at Perris back then. Larson won his first of 2 TNGP's on Thanksgiving Night 2012. It was at that point that I became a true believer in just how great Larson is. In March of 2012 we went to Ventura for opening night and found that place to be the coolest dirt track in existence. The turn #1 grandstands can't be more than a couple of hundred yards from the Pacific Ocean. We were all set up to go to Turkey Night at Ventura a couple of years ago and had some things come up that prevented us from going. Maybe next year.

We'll definitely be watching the SpeedshiftTV internet PPV broadcast both Wednesday and Thursday nights all the time wishing we were there!!
