Default Epic Show At Du Quoin

All the makings of an epic event were in place from the start. CBell, Chase Brisco, Justin Grant, Tyler Courtney, CJ Leary and of course Thomas Meseraull. Well there was no disappointment involved. 70 midgets, very nearly every top midget driver, Christmas atmosphere, PACKED grandstands, a impeccably prepared racetrack and no F-ing support class.

We've attended every December show at Du Quoin dating back to the days when it was sanctioned by POWRi and we've never been disappointed.

TMez and Bell went at it from the start and after Bell had car problems it was TMez and CJ Leary who slugged it out in the middle of the race.

As we were walking out of the Southern Illinois Center following the running of the 4th annual Knepper 55 we heard someone in the crowd say "if you didn't like that show then ya' just don't like racing". I reckon he described it perfectly!!

Here's the highlights, and there were many!!

    The best class on dirt.

Looked like a fantastic show. The track looked to be in great shape.

Kid, Du Quoin hosted some of the best racing we watched all year both on the mile track and at the indoor facility. The Knepper 55 was one of the best races we've ever seen at Du Quoin and that's saying something. I'd say the battle between Bryan Clauson and Thomas Meseraull back in December of 2011 was maybe a little better than this years' Knepper 55, but not by much.

Can't wait for March to roll around for the Shamrock Classic at Du Quoin. Both the Knepper 55 in December and the Shamrock Classic in March get bigger every year. Couple more years they'll have to stop selling tickets at the door due to no more seating available. The place was almost completely full for the Knepper 55 this year.
