Interesting stuff. Thanks Montana.
-
Really appreciate your time and effort in putting these stats together.

Great stuff Montana, thank you. The “Positions Gained And Lost” to me was interesting and a good reminder of the importance of qualifying, big names on both sides of the dividing line.
I hate time trials.

2023 Races - WoO at TST

Very interesting. Thanks

Thanks MM great to see your posts again. Hope every thing is doing well!!!

Thanks for sharing, Montana. I believe Pearson entered 13 races...correct? 2 GIS, 6 EB, 5 VSP

He entered them all, but he didn’t make the show in at least the first two at VSP.
-
So it's the avg finish for the features they made. Thanks Terry!

Only 4 at Vsp! He took Monday off and it rained out Tues.

Earl raced in (8) Lucas Oil races at East Bay, but he didn't run any main event features under the (1) Dirtcar race or the (6) WoO sanctioned races
And in another question I got; I always rank my top tier drivers; in this case the top 24 drivers; by the fact that Don O'Neal and Brandon Overton ran the most speedweek races with 13 and I figure if you run 7 of those races you have run "more" than half of the specified features of those two drivers. I've always done it this way, some might not agree with it, but to me there's always circumstances that come up to keep drivers from not running albeit the series they are committed to or they choose not to run them.

I appreciate the stats as im a numbers guy myself!
One point though, how do you figure or not, a guy like Epj that attempted those races at Vsp but failed. That kinda skews the results.
-
No, I only document drivers who run the main events, not to those who don't qualify, just because they don't qualify should not be counted or skew any other results. It just means "said" driver had an off night and didn't make the show.

My question would be...in that example, though, 'not making the show' benefits a driver...(?)
Whereas finishing 25th in the feature hurts the driver...(?)

A more accurate scoring representation for a driver who entered, but missed the show, would be: number of feature starters + finish position in B main. So if you don’t transfer into a 24-car field and you finished 7th in your B main, you score a 31. If there were two B mains, double the 7th place finishing position in your B, and your score is 38. Three B mains = 45, etc. That seems fair, doesn’t it? There has to be a penalty for missing the show.
-
Awesome stuff as usual Montana, hope that you are doing well!!!
-
penalty for not making feature why the driver is already penalized enough by not making it sometimes by mechanical problems or just did not feel comfortable with car which it should be expected at the very beginning of new year to get the bugs ironed out some chose there sanctioned only.
