Default One Of The Greatest Accomplishment's In NASCAR History

Anyone who knows the history of NASCAR knows the two greatest accomplishments in NASCAR history. One being King Richard Petty winning 27 of 48 races, 10 in a row at one point in the season. The King went to victory lane in every race he drove in from August 12th to October 1st of that season!

The other of the two greatest was the day in May of 1985 when Awesome Bill Elliott made up 2 full laps under green flag conditions without the benefit of any yellow flags or any silly "lucky dog" nonsense to win the Winston 500 at Talladega, Alabama.

I remember as a kid watching Elliott decimate the field with that red and white #9 Ford Thunderbird while averaging over 204 MPH lap after lap. No one could believe what they were watching! Elliott was kicking ass on all the greats of that era. Buddy Baker, The King, Bobby Allison, Cale and even the guy that they said could "see the air" didn't have a chance against ol' Bill.

I witnessed Awesome Bill from Dawsonville myself accomplish this great feat. What is the chance of this ever happening again with the debris yellow being thrown for the odd paper napkin or hot dog wrapper so that they can tighten the field up so that there can be more crashes on the restarts. Also we live in a society where " everybody gets a trophy " so the more restarts a race has, the more of a chance that the back markers can take a peak at the front.

I also think Kulwicki winning rookie of the year with one car and two motors and then going on to win the championship a few years later. That can't be done this day and time with all the Daddy money putting drivers in the seat's

Are you referring to Yung Muny? He could be closing in on 200 feature wins. Not sure. One thing is for sure, Yung Muny is the best all around driver in NASCAR (maybe ever) with Christopher Bell being a very close second. That Kyle?

Oh how the media is pining the feat of the guy that looks and acts like the Pee Wee Herman character achieving 200 wins on Sunday in California. Why is not explained that only 54 of the wins are legitimate in the fact that they are added up from 146 wins from the lessor series ? Some are comparing him to the undisputed KING of stockcar racing Richard Petty. King Pettys wins were all in the premier upper crust main division of the sanction. In fact if they are trying to compare in shear numbers the wins based on what Kyle Bush did compared to the KINGS then Bush has 1 to go yet because Petty had also had a win in the convertible division bringing his total to 201.Dont forget that the KING also raced dirt races at bull rings against the best in the country. My favorite dirt late model driver has hundreds of wins in a late model but if you count the wins he has in pure stocks, street stocks, modifieds, and limited late models it would more toward the thousand mark ! From what I've been told, Kyle is expected to be at these lessor events to try to generate more new interest into a failing sanction. Of course if he is always showing up at the beginners stepping stone events in superior equipment, he is bound to win most of them. At 1 of my local tracks a late model driver also raced a house car e-mod. Almost always won. Same thing. Nothing more, nothing less.

The real and the raw about this 200 wins nonsense is this: The only reasonable explanation for the attention given to pee wee jr. is NASCAR needs pub of any kind, even the kind that doesn't make any rational sense. Pee wee has 147 wins in two divisions where he's basically, to use a basketball euphemism, slam dunking into an 8' rim against 5th graders. He has 53 wins and 0 legitimate championships in the league that has a 10' rim height against grown men & women of equal and greater talent. Besides that he got bitch slapped by a 60 something Richard Childress!! LOL!

Using the pee wee jr. math Arnhead should have 97 wins, Mark Martin should be given credit for 96 wins, Bobby Labonte should be given credit for 32 wins. And the list could go on and on. When will those be added to their overall NASCAR statistics? It just doesn't make any sense.

Anyone who try's to spin it any other way is a foolish fool who isn't completely in touch with reality.

What is next with these gimmicky birds from NASKY ? Will they start counting the stage wins as legitimate wins ? Unreal !
