    Default Lawrenceburg Gear

A friend will be trying his hand in a mod this year. He will be down on power starting out with a aluminum head 388 so he can learn. Not a high HP motor but he wants to keep the rpm's around 7000 or so. With good internal parts would a 6:20 gear be to much for that motor at Lawrenceburg ?

Way too low. You need to be more in the 5:70 range.

Great so far. No tach but am working on getting one. Motor held up. No complaints from the driver on how the car was getting around the track. It was his first nite in a mod and did well. The gear is a 5:67 and was just right.
