Chris Ferguson Pockets $10,000 Victory at Cochran
$10k-To-Win Carolina Clash Event at Fayetteville Next

Mt. Holly, North Carolina (03/25/19) – Chris Ferguson pocketed a cool $10,000 for his winning efforts on Saturday night at Cochran Motor Speedway. The pilot of the Diff-Tran Machining #22 K and K Trucking/ Sweet-Bloomquist Race Car/ Clements Racing Engine Super Late Model led all but the first two laps on his way to the Schaeffer’s Oil Spring Nationals Series win.

“First and foremost, this win is dedicated to the memory of my Uncle Danny,” Ferguson said with emotion in Victory Lane. “He was my dad’s brother, and he passed away last night. This win is for him.

“The car was flawless. We worked on one problem that we had all week, and we finally got it dialed in for the feature. I also want to thank Cody Mallory for helping us tonight. Hopefully, we’ve finally got the monkey from Speedweeks off our back.”

Chris Ferguson was one of 23 Schaeffer’s Spring Nationals Series entries registered at Cochran Motor Speedway (Cochran, Georgia) on Saturday evening. After laying down the fastest time in his qualifying group, Ferguson bagged a 10-lap heat race victory, positioning him second on the starting grid for the main event.

Slipping past Ross Bailes for the top spot on the third circuit, Chris went on to lead the remaining 57 circuits to pick up his first win of the season. Fighting off Michael Page following a caution on lap-54, Ferguson topped Page, Dale McDowell, Donald McIntosh, and Travis Pennington at the line to capture a $10,000 payday.

On Sunday afternoon at Cherokee Speedway (Gaffney, South Carolina) Chris Ferguson Motorsports entered the Southern All Star Series sanctioned March Madness event. Chris locked his spot into the $10,000-to-win main event with the fourth-and-final transfer spot in his heat race.

Starting the feature in 16th, Chris battled back to finish 13th after suffering a flat-tire, while running in the seventh position on lap-53.
