Kent Robinson Wins MARS Thriller at Brownstown
Sunoco ALMS at Eldora Speedway Up Next for Indiana Racer

Bloomington, Indiana (04/15/19) – Kent Robinson topped a great race with Devin Gilpin on Saturday night at Brownstown Speedway to claim the $5,000 triumph with the Schaeffer’s Oil Mid America Racing Series (MARS). The triumph was the first of the year for the driver of the JB’s Disposal Services #7r MB Customs/ Jay D ickens Racing Engine Super Late Model.

“I definitely had to work for it, but man it feels good to get the first win of the year,” Robinson said. “My guys were giving me signals that Devin [Gilpin] was closing back in on me late in the race, but luckily I was able to hold on and get the win. I think I hurt a shock there during the race because the car quit responding the way it had been.

“Hats off to my guys for keeping up with my car all week. A lot of people don’t realize how much work goes into this, and my guys always have a great car ready for me.”

Kent Robinson returned to action at Brownstown Speedway (Brownstown, Indiana) on Saturday evening in the Schaeffer’s Mid America Racing Series (MARS) sanctioned program.

In a field of 29 cars, Robinson started the night with a heat race victory, which positioned him third on the starting grid for the feature. Kent led early in the 40 lapper, before swapping the top spot with Gilpin multiple times. Robinson took control for good on lap 18 and survived a late-race charge from Gilpin to score the victory. Gilpin, Dean Carpenter, Steve Casebolt, and Greg Johnson completed the Top-5 finishers.

Kent earned a $5,000 payday for his efforts.
