Tommy Sheppard, Jr. of New Berlin, IL was the champion one season ago in the BillingsleyRewards.com Modifieds. Sheppard has had a good start this year, claiming a win and a second place finish in the two races so far. However, Rodney Standerfer, of Summerfield, IL, has done just as well with a win and a second place finish and is tied with Sheppard up top. Guy Taylor, Jared Thomas, and Tim Han(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word) complete the top five. Mt. Olive, IL’s Tim Han(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word) has a perfect record early on, going 2-for-2 in the Neal Tire & Auto Pro Mod division. Two weeks ago, Dennis Vandermeersch, of Springfield, IL dominated the feature. Terry Myers, of Buffalo, IL, made his way through the field to take the second spot, while Mitch Ringler, Joel Irvin, and Tim Bedinger round out the top five in points. Terry Reed, of Cerro Gordo, IL, leads the Archer’s Alley Street Stock points by just two markers over Monticello, IL’s Darrell (not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word). At most events, a handful of kids compete in the KidModz races. At intermission, kids bike races will be held. All girls and boys ages 15 and under are welcome to bring their bikes to compete. Helmets are highly recommended as well. In addition, CEFCU Kids Club will be held before the races in the pavilion. Our plan is to race tonight. That said, we got some overnight rain which soaked the pit area so we need a few hours of drying time to re-assess things. We will update everyone as the morning progresses. Full details on tonight’s event at maconracing.com.
