Earl Pearson Jr. Triumphs at Thunderbird for $3k Payday
Tazewell Speedway and Florence Speedway LOLMDS Action Up Next

Shreveport, Louisiana (04/29/19) – Mother Nature may have altered Earl Pearson Jr.’s original plans, but it didn’t slow him down one bit. In fact, after seeing the weekend’s Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series events washed away, the pilot of the Black Diamond Racecars House Car/ Lucas Oil No. 1 Drive4Etch.com/ Clements Racing Engine Super Late Model invaded Thunderbird Speedway on Friday night, where he picked up the $3,000 victory with the Lucas Oil Midwest Late Model Racing Association (MLRA).

“We did some testing at Lucas Oil Speedway there in Missouri during the week, and when the weather forced the Lucas Oil events in Illinois to get postponed we decided to race at Thunderbird Speedway on Friday night since it was kind of on the way home,” Pearson Jr. noted. “Everything went real for us there. That’s a big, fast race track, but my guys gave me a great car. The start of the feature was key, and we were able to get past Will [Vaught] to the lead on the first lap. The track took rubber after that, and I was able to hold the groove, and we got the win.

“Hopefully Mother Nature will be a little more kind to us this week, and we can get back to point’s racing.”

Friday night saw Earl Pearson Jr. in action at Thunderbird Speedway (Muskogee, Oklahoma) for the Lucas Oil Midwest Late Model Racing Association (MLRA) sanctioned contest. In a field of 12 cars, Pearson Jr. posted a runner-up finish in his heat race behind Mitch McGrath, which positioned him third on the starting grid for the A-Main.

Slipping past Polesitter Will Vaught on the opening lap, Earl led wire-to-wire en route to his second win of the season, which came over Vaught, Payton Looney, Mitch McGrath, and Logan Martin. He pocketed a $3,000 payday for his dominant performance in the 25-lap affair.
