    Default converting from old style to bee hive springs

    I am a little surprised that there are still quite a few engines out there with the old style valve spring on the 604
    all sanctions (that I know of) permit the updated bee-hive valve springs on the 604 no matter the year of the engine

    the last few sentences are very important --pertaining to the removal of keeper land burrs

    Brad, what is your recommended number of laps on a set of bee-hives before you change them out?

    there are a few "IF's" here
    IF you started with hand picked springs that are at the high side of spec
    IF your installed heights are properly set
    IF you run a respectable RPM (below 6800)
    IF your temperatures are in line (oil below 260) (water below 210)

    IF all of the above are followed we have seen them last in excess of 40 racing nights

    variations to the above shorten the life
