R.J. and Rod Conley Land Inside Top Ten in Atomic 100

(WHEELERSBURG, OHIO) Delmas, Rod, and R.J. Conley all converged at Atomic Speedway in Alma, Ohio on Sunday, April 28 for the rain-postponed 'Atomic 100.' R.J. wound up with the best finish of the trio of Conley Motorsports, Inc. (CMI) drivers, as he timed in tenth overall during the qualifying session, grabbed the fourth transfer spot through his heat race, and later moved up inside of the top five in the $10,000 to win headliner before settling for a sixth place performance. The Wheelersburg, Ohio native trailed only victor Tim McCreadie, Kyle Strickler, Devin Moran, Tyler Erb, and Tyler Carpenter after 100 green flag racing laps.

His brother Rod stopped the clock sixteenth quickest overall during time trials before placing third in his stacked heat race. After rolling off from the outside of the sixth row in the 'Atomic 100,' the driver known as "Hot Rod" steered his #71r machine past four competitors on his way to a solid eighth place showing. Delmas, the patriarch of the racing Conley family, qualified fourth fastest in preliminary action, but unfortunately failed to transfer into the 100-lapper after allegedly jumping the start in his heat race. Complete results from the rainy weekend at Atomic Speedway can be viewed online at www.atomicspeedway.net.

Weather pending, Rod and R.J. Conley will return to dirt-slinging competition this upcoming Saturday night, May 4. Rod will be back at Atomic Speedway for the 11th Annual ‘Dan Reno Memorial,’ which boasts a $2,022 top prize for the Super Late Models. R.J. is scheduled to make the trek to the venerable Florence Speedway in Union, Kentucky on Saturday for the 33rd edition of the ‘Ralph Latham Memorial.’ The ultra-competitive Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will preside over the storied race and a $12,000 winner’s check will be up for grabs. R.J. was the 2001 victor of the ‘Ralph Latham Memorial’ and will be gunning for his second race title this weekend.
