Mason Zeigler Parks It at Port Royal for First Win of 2019
Billy Winn Classic at Bedford Speedway Next

Chalk Hill, Pennsylvania (05/28/19) – After a handful of near misses this season, Mason Zeigler was able to pick up his first win of the season on Sunday evening in his MS Shock Therapy #25z JLE Industries/ Ohiopyle Vacation Rentals/ XR1 Rocket Chassis/ Pro Power Racing Engine Super Late Model.

Zeigler’s maiden voyage to Victory Lane on the 2019 campaign came Sunday evening at Port Royal Speedway in the Fallen Heroes Championship and was worth $5,000.

“Even though we’ve only run a limited schedule so far this year, we’ve given away three wins in the final few laps. Thankfully, we were able to put it altogether at Port Royal on Sunday and get the first victory of the year,” Zeigler said. “I’m looking forward to racing more in the coming months, so hopefully this is the first of many wins to come.”

Friday night found Mason Zeigler in action at Bedford Speedway (Bedford, Pennsylvania) for the Johnny Grum-Turk Burket Tribute. In a field of 25 cars, Mason locked his spot into opening night feature with a heat race victory. Starting seventh on the grid, mechanical issues unfortunately sidelined Zeigler on the opening circuit of the 35-lapper.

After Mother Nature postponed Saturday’s event to Sunday, Zeigler invaded Port Royal Speedway (Port Royal, Pennsylvania) for a pair of features. Following the third-fastest time in qualifications, Mason posted a third-place finish in his heat, which positioned him fourth on the starting grid for the 35-lap, Fallen Heroes Championship.

Sliding past Rick Eckert for the lead on lap-18, Zeigler raced to his first win of the season. Jason Covert, Rick Eckert, Gregg Satterlee, and Dylan Yoder completed the Top-5 finishers. He earned $5,000 for his triumph.

Later Sunday evening, during the Bob Weikert Memorial, Mason secured his spot into the $5,000-to-win finale with a runner-up finish in his heat race behind Michael Norris. Rolling off third for the finale, Zeigler went on to finish seventh in the 35-lap affair
