07 Mastersbilt Smackdown Help
We need to pull out the old backup car and need some advice to help get us as close as possible right out of the gate. Car is an 07 Smackdown. I have the S7 spindles and the new updated 4 bar mounts to put on it but we never raced either before. Does anyone have any baseline set up thoughts for us on this car? With the updated front end, I want to make sure I have what I need under it. Any help would be appreciated. TIA

We were told by the previous owner that the Right side frame rail was raised but I don't know about the cross member. Is there an easy way to tell?

If it isn't flat, its probably original, I would guess.

Set your ride height at 3.5" both fronts with s7 spindles. Set rear ride heights. Measure all pin to pin.
500# of spring. 275# rf spring
150# lr spring or stack of your choice. 250# rf spring
Lf 550# at ride height pin to pin
Rf 600# at ride height pin to pin.
Lr 700# at ride height pin to pin.
Rr 330# at ride height pin to pin.
Rf 1400# at ride height pin to pin minus 3"
Rf 2400# at ride height pin to pin minus 3.75"
Rf 2800# at ride height pin to pin minus 4"

500# lf spring above. And 250# rr spring
This all assumes a 2007 crossmember and may still bottom out.

I'd go with what MasterSbilt_Racer said above.
My only change would be a stiffer RF spring where I'd do a 325 or a 350, but depends on driving style, track, etc. of course.

We ran a 300 a lot. Went as high as 350 sometimes. I think that's a fair suggestion. Really depends on bump situation.

Do I need to shim the rack and pinion up when we put the S7 spindles on? and what's the purpose for that? I have another MastersBilt driver that says they had to do this.

I can't remember. That may be right. I'd just check bumpsteer once you are done. That would be the reason to do it.
