    Per Psycho Billy on FB:

"Through our own research, a replacement for LaSalle has been found. It will not become official until approved by the city council at this location. This is a very interesting (and new) venue for the tour should it become a reality."
    Opinions are my own. Twitter.com/ShinySideUp18

The City council of Maquoketa Ia. vetoed the Hell Tour race for july 3rd. The race will now take place at Davenport Ia. on the 1/4 mile track July 3rd.

Wow! That would have been a good thing for Maquoketa.

As a race fan, Davenport is much racier than Maquoketa. I have been to Maquoketa 4 times and they have all been snoozefests.

BREAKING: Summer Nationals swings to Davenport July 3

WALCOTT, Iowa (June 12) – The legacy Trackside Promotions continues to etch in area dirt track stock car racing is making a tremendous addition.
The popular DIRTcar Summer Nationals Late Model Series has added the 1/4-mile dirt oval at the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds in Davenport, Iowa to its “Hell Tour.”
The $5,000-to win Super Late Model event takes place Wednesday July 3. Times and support classes will be determined in the coming hours.
“This is one series we had on our To Do list,” Trackside owner Nick McCrady said. “When the opportunity came up at the last minute to shift a race here and be part of it, we were up to the challenge and ready to take advantage.”
The 19th of 28 races was originally scheduled for LaSalle (Ill.) Speedway. Trackside is working in conjunction with DIRTcar and Sixteens Race Promotions to reset for the series’ first visit to Davenport since 2000.
“We know some teams are reluctant to try new tracks on this deal and that is understood. I was a racer,” McCrady said. “But the numbers speak for themselves. Our regular tracks (Maquoketa and Dubuque speedways) are two of the top tracks in the state in car count and there is a reason for that. These Super Late Model teams won’t be disappointed with the three-wide surface they will race on. We’re looking forward to bringing our team to Davenport.”
The tour comes to Davenport the night after visiting Wilmot, Wis. July 2. The following night is the annual sojourn to the Macon (Ill.) Speedway. The 2019 series is scheduled to take the green flag tonight at the Peoria (Ill.) Speedway to start the 28 race in 32 days journey across eight states.
Davenport is the only Iowa stop on the schedule.
“We can’t think Tony Izzo, Jr. (Sixteens) and Shawn Loter (Mississippi Valley Fair) enough for coming together with us to make this happen,” McCrady added. “Race fans and teams will not be disappointed.”
The Summer Nationals has made four visits to the famed eastern Iowa fairgrounds track, utilizing both the 1/4-mile and 1/2-mile tracks, in the past. Previous winners were Shannon Babb (2000), Billy Moyer (1999, 1996) and Scott Bloomquist (1997).
The July 3 event will be on the 1/4-mile oval.
Brian Shirley won the 2018 series title, breaking a three-year reign by Bobby Pierce. Moyer and Babb have the most feature wins in the series, which dates back to 1986. Moyer has six Summer Nationals series titles, most of any driver.
Advanced ticket information will be available soon.

Very cool to have Open Late Models at Davenport. Wish it was the 1/2 mile, but it’s been a long time since the UMPSN Tour has been there. I was at all those races.
