Macon Speedway Set For 95Q/Dynagraphics Firecracker 40ís Special Races Set For Pro Lates & Topless Modifieds (Macon, IL) Macon Speedway is putting everything in place for a Saturday night full of racing action and fireworks, this Saturday, June 22. It is Firecracker 40 night, featuring 40-lap features for the Decatur Building Trades Pro Late Models and BillingsleyRewards Modifieds. The Modifieds will run topless for the evening. Five other divisions will race plus a fireworks display toward the end of the night. The evening is presented by 95Q and Dynagraphics. It will be a big night for Decatur Building Trades, as the division they support, the Pro Late Models, will have a Big 10 race, going 40-laps for extra prize money. In addition, plenty of the members from Decatur Building Trades will be in the Turn 4 Lounge, watching all of the racing action. The Pro Late division is led by Dakota Ewing, who has four wins and a 52 point lead in the standings. Donny Koehler, Jake Little, Blake Damery, and Colby Sheppard complete the top five. The BillingsleyRewards.com Modified division will also be on track for 40 laps of action. The night is doubly special as the class runs minus the roof of the car for the only time during the season. It gives the fans a great look into the (not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)pit of the racecar, watching the drivers work their craft. New Berlin, ILís Tommy Sheppard, Jr. leads the standings and has claimed four feature wins. Alan Crowder has had a strong start to the season and is second in points, while Tim Han(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word), Jared Thomas, and Zach Rhodes complete the top five. Mount Olive, ILís Tim Han(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word) leads the win in the Neal Tire & Auto Pro Modified division, having claimed five feature wins already this season. Han(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word) is followed in the standings by Nick Justice, Rob Timmons, Tim Riech, and Roy Magee. The division has had strong fields of cars and good racing all season long. Scott Landers leads the field of Sportsman into action on Saturday night, having three top fives in four features. That consistency gives him the advantage over Mitch Ringler, Tim Bedinger, Joel Irvin, and Terry Myers. Dennis Vandermeersch has won three of the four features but missed one night, relegating him to sixth in points. Hammond, ILís Gene Reed is on top of the Archers Alley Street Stock standings. Right behind him is his brother Terry, who has claimed three feature wins. Larry Russell, Jr., Jonathon Hall, and Darrell (not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word) complete the top five in points. The racing has been highly competitive in the class this season with a handful of drivers competing for wins on any given night. The Micros by Bailey Chassis will be making their fifth appearance of the season, with the Day family at the top. Tyler Day leads the points by 24 over Molly Day. Jacob Tipton, Aaron Andruskevitch, and Aiden Purdue complete the top five. Rounding out Saturdayís action will be the Hornet class, coming off of their Ed Cain Trucking Hornet Challenge from a couple weeks ago. Decatur, IL driver, Brady Reed, leads the points by 76 over Carter Dart. Billy Mason, Cook Crawford, and Marty Sullivan round out the top five. A fireworks display will light up the sky at the conclusion of the race program or a little before. CEFCU Kids Club will be held between 5:30-7:00 in the pavilion near the main scoring tower. Kids 11 and under are welcome to attend. Pit gates will open at 4:00, grandstands at 5:00, hotlaps will be at 6:00, and racing will take the green at 7:00. Grandstand admission will be $15, while kids 11 and under are free. Mother Nature Takes Another At Macon Speedway Dynagraphics/95Q Firecracker 40ís Moved To Saturday, June 29 (Macon, IL) For the fifth time this season, Macon Speedway officials have been forced to cancel a night of racing at the 1/5-mile racetrack. This time, much like the others, Mother Natureís wrath of heavy rains proved to be too much as the grounds of the facility were over saturated. The Dynagraphics/95Q Firecracker 40ís have been rescheduled for Saturday, June 29 as part of Bud Light Ladies Night. For Macon, the cancellation is the second in-a-row, also losing the POWRi Midget Speedweek event the week before. Rain has wreaked havoc on tracks all across the country in 2019, causing a record number of rainouts at some tracks. The next few events for Macon Speedway are big ones so everyone is hoping the weather starts to dry out. Saturday, June 29 will feature the 40-lappers for the Decatur Building Trades Big Ten Pro Late Models as well as the Topless BillingsleyRewards.com Modifieds. Also in action will be the Neal Tire & Auto Pro Mods, Sportsman, Archers Alley Street Stocks, and Hornets. For Bud Light Ladies night, all women will receive tickets for just $5 each. Lastly, at intermission, a kids gold rush will be held on track. Macon will then be right back in action on Thursday, July 4 for the highly anticipated Herald & Review 100. The 39th running of the event will see the DIRTcar Summer National Super Late Models running for $5,000 to win in addition to the BillingsleyRewards.com Modifieds running with the Summit Modified Nationals. The Neal Tire & Auto Pro Mods will also be in action. Fireworks will be held after the racing action. The last event of the busy week will be on Saturday, July 6 when Bob Brady Auto Mall presents the Raminator Monster Truck. The Dean Garland Classic is also on tap for the Midwest Stock Car Tour and the Sportsman Topless 40. Several divisions will be in action. For more information, visit the website at maconracing.com.
