Dennis Erb, Jr. Wins with Last Lap Pass at Fairbury for Second Victory of 2019!

(CARPENTERSVILLE, ILLINOIS) Dennis Erb, Jr. landed in victory lane for the second time in 2019 in thrilling fashion on Saturday evening, June 29 at Fairbury American Legion Speedway in downtown Fairbury, Illinois! Dennis, who stopped in at FALS to get some track time before the upcoming ‘Prairie Dirt Classic,’ laid down the seventh quickest time overall during qualifying prior to running fourth in heat race action. After rolling off from the inside of the fourth row in the 30-lap ‘FALS Cup’ feature event, Dennis streaked towards the front and eventually worked his way past leader Mike Spatola on the final circuit. The Carpentersville, Illinois ace picked up the $2,500 top prize in the exciting race over Spatola, Chase Junghans, Ryan Unzicker, and Donny Walden!

The Dennis Erb Racing team also recorded a pair of top ten performances with the DIRTcar Summer Nationals during the course of their busy week. On Tuesday, June 25 at Tri-City Speedway in Granite City, Illinois, Dennis ran third in his heat race prior to moving up one spot in the $7,500 to win main event to claim a solid eighth place showing. At Peoria Speedway in Peoria, Illinois last Wednesday, Dennis placed third in heat race action before starting and finishing ninth in the $5,000 to win headliner.

On Friday night, June 28, the World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series joined the DIRTcar Summer Nationals for a co-sanctioned battle at the sprawling Terre Haute Action Track in Terre Haute, Indiana. Dennis posted the fifth fastest time in his group during the qualifying session and later grabbed a second place effort in his loaded heat race. After drawing the outside of the second row before the start of the 30-lapper, which carried a $10,000 payday, Dennis unfortunately slid backwards in the caution-free affair and wound up thirteenth in the final finishing order. He currently finds himself sixth in the latest WOOLMS point standings heading into a hectic month of July with the national touring series. “It was good to pick up another win and it was a great race Saturday night at Fairbury,” quoted Erb, Jr. today via telephone. “I was able to get some good laps in around that place and take some notes before the PDC there later in July. We had some solid runs earlier in the week on the Summer Nationals and then unfortunately just missed on a few things setup-wise at Terre Haute for the feature. We will keep working hard and hopefully the weather cooperates this week starting later tonight at Wilmot!”

The #28 team will now turn their focus to a pair of DIRTcar Summer Nationals showdowns and two more WOOLMS tilts in the states of Wisconsin, Iowa, and Minnesota from July 2-6. A pair of $5,000 winner’s checks will be on the line in “Hell Tour” competition tonight at Wilmot Raceway in Wilmot, Wisconsin and on Wednesday on the 1/4-mile oval at Davenport Speedway in Davenport, Iowa. Following a day off to celebrate Independence Day on Thursday, things heat right back up with a pair of $10,000 to win World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series contests on Friday at Independence Motor Speedway in Independence, Iowa and on Saturday in the annual running of the ‘Gopher 50’ at Deer Creek Speedway in Spring Valley, Minnesota.
