ADAIRSVILLE, GA - The Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Sportsman Division Week 15 Preview is being posted early this July 4th Holiday Week because events will be contested from Wednesday through Saturday. There are five races on the schedule of events in Alabama and Mississippi.

Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL will open Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Sportsman Division Week 15 Durrence Layne Weekly Racing Series action on Wednesday night. The Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Sportsman Division will take July 4th off, and then return to action with two races on Friday night, and two races on Saturday night.

Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, MS will host the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Sportsman Division on Friday night. North Alabama Speedway in Tuscumbia, AL will run a Week 6 Make-Up Race for the Late Model Sportsmen on Friday night, and then return on Saturday night with a $1,000-to-win Week 15 race. ECM Speedway in Arkadelphia, AL has the LMS Division on Saturday night.

Morgen Lambert of Booneville, MS is the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Sportsman Division National point leader. Lambert has 527 points after one win, eight top five finishes and ten top ten finishes in 15 races over 12 weeks of competition driving the Rae Trucking Special. Lambert still has two more weeks to earn full points.

Bryson Mitchell of Russellville, AL is second in the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Sportsman Division points chase with 474 points. Mitchell has driven the Sparks Energy Rocket to six wins, ten top five finishes and 13 top ten finishes in 14 events over ten weeks of racing.

Mitchell also has the second highest Weekly Point Average (WPA) at 47.40 out of a possible 50 among the Top 20 point drivers with eight or more weeks of racing. Cruz Wallace of Tuscumbia, AL is third in the LMS National standings with 468 points.

Wallace has two wins, nine top five finishes and 11 top ten finishes in 14 races over ten weeks of competition in the Toyota of the Shoals Special. Wallace has the third highest WPA at 46.80. Victoria Purcell of Bremen, AL is fourth in the standings with 431 points after one top five finish and seven top ten finishes in 14 races over ten weeks of competition in the Anderson Trucking Special.

Blake Ray of Russellville, AL rounds out the top five in the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Sportsman Division point standings in the Shoals Heating and Air TNT. Ray has 427 points after two wins, eight top five finishes and nine top ten finishes in12 events over nine weeks of racing. Ray has the highest WPA among the Top 20 drivers with eight or more weeks of racing at 47.44. Ray still has five more weeks to earn full points.

Drivers racing in Durrence Layne Weekly Racing events compete for both a Track point fund and a National point fund. Drivers compete against drivers racing at Durrence Layne Racing sanctioned tracks across the country using a National points system over a 27-week season that concludes on September 29.

A driver’s best 14 weekly point totals count as their season total. The top ten drivers in the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Sportsman Division National point standings will earn a seat at the Durrence Layne Racing Annual Awards Banquet to receive a point fund check and a trophy.
