Kyle Strickler Conquers The Taz in Super Late Model Action
Three-Race Weekend Set to Roll for Wells and Sons Motorsports

Hazard, Kentucky (07/09/19) – It took two days to complete the event, but when the checkered flag finally dropped on Tazewell Speedway’s Firecracker 40, Kyle Strickler had officially claimed his first victory in the Big Blue Smoke House No. 8 Wells & Sons Motorsports/ Wehrs Machine/ Longhorn Race Car/ Cornett Racing Engine Super Late Model.

“We’ve been so close, and I really wanted this one and we’ve been working really hard,” Strickler said in Victory Lane. “We’ve had a really good car every time we’ve hit the track so far this year, and tonight we were finally able to put all of the pieces together and get it done. My mom and dad are here tonight, so it makes it extra special to win the first one with them here. Hopefully there’s a lot more to come.”

Kyle Strickler invaded Tazewell Speedway (Tazewell, Tennessee) on Wednesday night as he piloted the G-Style Transport No. 8 Super Late Model into battle in the Iron-Man Championship Late Model Series sanctioned, Firecracker 40.

During the race’s early stages Strickler ran second to Dakotah Knuckles until lap 14, when the leader pulled into the infield with mechanical issues. Out front Strickler would have to wait almost 24 hours before seeing the green flag again as rain showers began to pelt the high-banked, clay oval. Officials were forced to postpone the remainder of the event to Thursday evening.

When the event resumed on Thursday, Strickler was never seriously challenged again for the remaining 24 circuits of the 40 lapper. He soared to his first Super Late Model win of the season and his fourth triumph overall on the year with Wells Motorsports. Vic Hill, Dakotah Knuckles, Jason Trammell, and David Payne rounded out the Top 5. Strickler earned a $5,000 payday for his efforts
