WoO/WRG question
Curious how Macon and Granite City host the Lucas tour (instead of WoO) without losing the Summernationals date like LaSalle had happen to them? Or was the issue with LaSalle more related to letting a suspended driver (Richards) race? Personally, I feel tracks should be able to host whichever series they choose to but thought that WRG has an issue with UMP sanctioned tracks hosting a competing series rather than their own.

If I remember correctly, the NDRL was attempting to bring down the WoO by scheduling dates on top of them, and when that failed, WRG/UMP banned member tracks from scheduling races from series not sanctioned by WRG. If they tried, they would forfeit their UMP sanctioning. Fayette County Speedway briefly lost their sanctioning by simply talking to Lucas Oil.
Macon, LaSalle, and Granite City had their Lucas Oil dates before the ban hammer came down, so they were grandfathered in.
Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

But yes, the LaSalle deal was because Best Performance Motorsports was allowed to race while they had pending litigation against WRG.

I remember the ndrl deal but I'm not sure anything still exist to that effect because i know of at least one team around here that has a date with woo and Lucas and that's only been for the last two years or so. Port royal

That only went for UMP Member tracks and didn't not include tracks outside the sanction.

Deer Creek started having Lucas Oil Races in May (this year rained out) and they still have the Gopher 50 in July which is WOO. But Deer Creek isn't a UMP track.

That won't happen as Kerry Izzo was pretty adamite in her statement on Facebook about closing the track that the track is not for sale.

I read somewhere that the Track equipment was for sale, but as of yet not the land. Wonder what the plan is.

Well if it does get sold I'd hope someone other then Deery get's it.
If their goofy enough to think Rockford was a good idea then that's all I need to know I don't care if he runs WRG or not.
WRG / UMP in my opinion is already a monopoly; don't want to see that happen with a track.
They already hold tracks hostage with telling them what they can and can't schedule at their track with WOO LMS & Lucas.
In my opinion you should not be able to tell a promoter what to do.
He or She should be able to do what best for his or her track!

It's sad to see how much infighting there is in the sport right now, especially since everything is so fragile already.

world racing group are losing their marbles. They are down to 10 regulars on Woo. it doesn't help they run the summer nationals at the same time too. That group needs to wake up!

Grandfathered in is exactly what happened...this is why FALS can't get a Lucas race.
Although, I'll let you in on something. They could get that race. It's whether or not Curl wants to see who wins the stare-down contest.
All I can say is, never say never.
