ADAIRSVILLE, GA – Two drivers in the top three of the Durrence Layne Performance Parts Street Stock Division have reached the 14-week mark of their respective seasons as the Durrence Layne Weekly Racing Series goes into Week 17 competition this Friday night and Saturday night. Point leader Dylan Hamilton and third-place Joseph Nicholson will try to net points this weekend.

Hamilton will try to net on the lowest of his 14 best weekly totals with a 41. The 14-year-old driver would have to finish ninth of better in a field of eight or more cars to net any points. Nicholson will try to net on a 34 to replace his lowest weekly total. Hamilton leads the Durrence Layne Performance Parts Street Stock Division National standings with 666 points.

Drivers racing in Durrence Layne Weekly Racing events compete for both a Track point fund and a National point fund. Drivers compete against drivers racing at Durrence Layne Racing sanctioned tracks across the country using a National points system over a 27-week season that concludes on September 29.

A driver’s best 14 weekly point totals count as their season total. Once a driver reaches 14 weeks of competition, they start trying to net points by replacing the lowest weekly total among their best 14 weekly totals with a higher one. A driver can only count their best point total each week as their total for that week.

The top ten drivers in the Durrence Layne Performance Parts Street Stock Division National point standings will earn a seat at the Durrence Layne Racing Annual Awards Banquet to receive a point fund check and a trophy.

Hayden Moran of Covington, LA is second in the Durrence Layne Performance Parts Street Stock Division National standings with 614 points. Moran still has one more week to earn full points. A 50-point win would give Moran 664 points. Nicholson is third in the standings with 608 points. Doug Taylor of Angie, LA is fourth with 580 points and one more week to earn full points.

Mike Lane of Wing, AL is fifth in the Durrence Layne Performance Parts Street Stock Division National standings with 559 points. Lane still has two more weeks to earn full points. Jason Baker of Addison, AL is sixth in the standings with 536 points, but with three more weeks to earn full points, Baker has the highest Weekly Point Average among the top six drivers at 48.73 out of a possible 50.
