I was thinking it was during this past off season ( if there is such a thing now).

If any of the others manufacturer's want back up that ladder, because there are other quality builders out there, they need a strong house car I think is the #1 priority. Longhorns are on the map because of rumley. T-mac may be the house driver but that #6 is the true house car in my opinion. After the marlar split it only made sense to put T-mac in that seat.
My curiosity will be what car shows up at the world 100 and the finals. I think the Rumley 6 with Sweetners sheet metal.
Yet JD is the one with many of the longhorn wins.
The #49 has done fairly well the past 2 years.
Even better this year!

Fals if it wasn't for Rumley where would JD be today ? They were and are both good for each other. You just had 2 strong individuals that did not like sharing the spot lite.

I agree with that...would never take away from what Rumley has done for JD and the sport.

And the rumley 6 showing up at fals on an open trailer......how cool is that?
Where is the move over flag when you need it?????

Rumley did a lot for JD. But for the sport, I'm not sure you can argue that, and I'm a fan.

wasn't very long ago grt was the way to go, it comes and goes, at some point there will be a new kid on the block, if rocket didn't get some help from rumley, they were in trouble, not trying to start trouble just the facts, the blue gray was falling very quick (rayburn front with 4 bars)
but congrats to them, they are on top right now

That sawblade 6 has been pretty popular around the south for years with a bunch of good drivers in it....I would argue that Leroy and Kevin have both impacted the sport in a pretty big way if you look at what they have accomplished on their own as well as collectively.

Jd is running pretty good this yr w/o rumley. Not taking away from rumley.

No disagreement with that. They have left a legacy for sure. When I hear "done for the sport" I think of a lasting, positive effect. Being successful isn't the same thing as that.

True enough......I see them as regional iconic figures that have done really well on the national stage.
I think after it's said and done Kevin will be recognized as one the guys that changed late model racing forever with his approach to finding speed.
That story hasn't been completed yet.

Is TMAC in the 6 for the PDC? I would say he could be the odds on favorite if so...

In my opinion, he already changed it forever. Some of that being for the worse, but most of the bad part of it isn't his fault.
