ADAIRSVILLE, GA – Week 18 of the 27-week 2019 Durrence Layne Weekly Racing Series season will begin a transformation of the Durrence Layne Performance Parts Street Stock Division National point standings. The top four drivers in the point standings have reached the 14-week mark of their respective seasons, and are now trying to net points, while all drivers fifth on back are still earning full points.

We are beginning the part of the season where drivers will start “coming from out of nowhere” and into the Top 10 of the Durrence Layne Performance Parts Street Stock Division National point standings.

There will be 12 races in six different states this Friday night and Saturday night on the Durrence Layne Performance Parts Street Stock Division Week 18 schedule of events. There will also be a new track coming on board with the series for drivers in Central Louisiana.

Columbus Speedway in Columbus, MS and Hattiesburg Speedway in Hattiesburg, MS will open Week 18 action this Friday night. Also this Friday night, Show Time Speedway in Many, LA will join the Durrence Layne Performance Parts Street Stock Division as a sanctioned track.

Drivers that were racing at Thunder Valley Speedway in Glenmora, LA will now have a track to earn National points while Thunder Valley Speedway is on “Summer Vacation.” Thunder Valley Speedway will return to action with the Durrence Layne Performance Parts Street Stock Division on August 31. Show Time Speedway has been gracious enough to give the Central Louisiana title contenders a place to race.

A jam packed Saturday night Week 18 schedule will see Durrence Layne Performance Parts Street Stock Division races at Camden Speedway in Camden, TN, Duck River Raceway Park in Lewisburg, TN, ECM Speedway in Arkadelphia, AL, Greenville Speedway in Greenville, MS, Jackson Motor Speedway in Jackson, MS, Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, MS, Needmore Speedway in Norman Park, GA, Southern Raceway in Milton, FL, and Thunderhill Raceway in Summertown, TN.

Drivers racing in Durrence Layne Weekly Racing events compete for both a Track point fund and a National point fund. Drivers compete against drivers racing at Durrence Layne Racing sanctioned tracks across the country using a National points system over a 27-week season that concludes on September 29.

A driver’s best 14 weekly point totals count as their season total. Once a driver reaches 14 weeks of competition, they start trying to net points by replacing the lowest weekly total among their best 14 weekly totals with a higher one. A driver can only count their best point total each week as their total for that week.

The top ten drivers in the Durrence Layne Performance Parts Street Stock Division National point standings will earn a seat at the Durrence Layne Racing Annual Awards Banquet to receive a point fund check and a trophy.

Dylan Hamilton of Cantonment, FL is the Durrence Layne Performance Parts Street Stock Division point leader with an eight-point advantage over Hayden Moran of Covington, LA. Hamilton has a best 14-week total of 671 points, and the 14-year-old driver will be trying to net on a 45. Moran has a best 14-week total of 663 points, and he will be trying to net on a 37.

Doug Taylor of Angie, LA is third in the National Street Stock standings with a best 14-week total of 621 points, and he will be trying to net on a 41. Joseph Nicholson of Fort Walton Beach, FL is fourth with a best 14-week total of 618 points, and he will be trying to net on a 43. Mike Lane of Wing, AL is fifth with 609 points, and he still has one more week to earn full points.
