how in the world does any one fall off a golf cart ???

This could be a 7-10 day recovery time injury or several weeks recovery time depending on the severity. Let's hope for the less serious.

It happens a lot more than you think.....no seatbelts, an unexpected turn by the driver and out you go.
Not sure what happened in Chris's case but golf carts , like almost anything with wheels on it can be dangerous.
Where is the move over flag when you need it?????

I flipped a couple but a lot of alcohol was involved.

Curious on the timeframe a car or cars can test before a race?

So you don’t think in one weekend at Eldora or Myrtle Beach that anyone ever falls off a golf cart? Fall off, hit the wrong thing, it’s all bad.
I remember being in a high school, some poor kid I barely knew, parents house backed right up to the golf course. May or may not have been out there at midnight, or later, screwing around.
Up in the air who my next “favorite” driver is. Really losing hope on Bloomer getting anywhere back to “normal”.

Well, if you’re in Arkansas and Pa, why go home, to turn around and have to be in Mansfield on Thursday? Especially when the co owner of the one team runs the place. And it’s a nice place.
Go there, hang out, hopefully don’t screw up. Something dumb happened, is what it is. Hopefully he regains use of his eye fully, I could care less why they were there already. But do carry on.

Before conspiracy theorists start whining, there are numerous teams already at the track. I first heard about it after it happened from a Rocket team.
No need to log extra miles, fuel, and wear and tear on your hauler.

Wow, Hope he is able to race again soon.

Did anybody hear that he fell off a golf cart and fractured his eye socket?

Out of the Dirt Late Model scene... But Former St. Louis Cardinal Juan Encarnacion fractured his eye socket catching a foul ball in the eye while in the on deck circle. That was probably around 2007/08 and I don't think he ever played again. Sure hope he Madden's injury isn't as serious as that one was. Wishing him a speedy recovery. He was the middle of GREAT run.

Is it possible to break your eye socket without doing permanent damage to the eye?
-
Yes it's possible from my experience, a friend in college got popped in the eye during a fight and he required surgery and then another to fix the eye muscle a few months later, he went on continuing playing college baseball and was even drafted by the tigers. So I would assume it's just the severity and how it broke. But by looking it up and I know Google isn't the most reliable lol, it could be a big issue.

MADDEN RELEASED FROM HOSPITAL
Mooresburg, TN. — Scott Bloomquist Racing has very good news regarding the driver of the #0M, Chris Madden. After being transferred from the Avita ER, to the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center and undergoing a more thorough evaluation and CAT Scan to the fractured left eye socket. Driver Chris Madden has been released from the hospital.
Several specialists evaluated Madden’s injuries and have determined that surgery is not required at this time which is very positive news for the SBR team driver.
The #0M will not be able to compete in this weekends Dirt Million event. However, DR’s have indicated that once swelling subsides, Madden will likely be able to return to the (not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)pit when he feels comfortable. This news is very good, considering surgery would require a lengthy recovering process.
Madden will be traveling home today to South Carolina to be with his family. Chris wants to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers. We would like to kindly request his privacy at this time.
