ADAIRSVILLE, GA – Week 22 of the Durrence Layne Weekly Racing Series season will see seven Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Sportsman Division events this Saturday night. The top 13 drivers in the National point standings have reached the 14-week mark of their seasons. Drivers 14th on back in the standings will be racing for full points in Week 22 action.

With six weeks to go in the 2019 Durrence Layne Weekly Racing Series season, Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Sportsman Division drivers are trying to land on one of the Top 10 points fund-paying positions.

Drivers racing in Durrence Layne Weekly Racing Series events compete for both a Track point fund and a National point fund. Drivers compete against drivers racing at Durrence Layne Racing sanctioned tracks across the country using a National points system over a 27-week season that concludes on September 29.

A driver’s best 14 weekly point totals count as their season total. Once a driver reaches 14 weeks of competition, they start trying to net points by replacing the lowest weekly total among their best 14 weekly totals with a higher one. A driver can only count their best point finish each week as their total for that week.

The top ten drivers in the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Sportsman Division National point standings will earn a seat at the Durrence Layne Racing Annual Awards Banquet to receive a point fund check and a trophy.

Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Sportsman Division Week 22 events are scheduled for Camden Speedway in Camden, TN, ECM Speedway in Arkadelphia, AL, Jackson Motor Speedway in Jackson, MS, Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, MS, North Alabama Speedway in Tuscumbia, AL, Southern Raceway in Milton, FL, and Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL.

Bryson Mitchell of Russellville, AL leads the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Sportsman Division National standings with a best 14-week total of 692 points. Mitchell will be trying to net on a 47 which means he has to have a top three finish to gain any points on his season total. The next three spots in the points chase are separated by just seven points.

Blake Ray of Russellville, AL is second in the standings with a best 14-week total of 667 points. Ray will be trying to net on a 44. Cruz Wallace of Tuscumbia, AL is in the third spot of the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Sportsman Division standings, only one point behind Ray, with a best 14-week total of 666 points. Wallace will be trying to net on a 45.
