ADAIRSVILLE, GA – Mike Lane of Wing, AL took another big step towards the Durrence Layne Performance Parts Street Stock Division National Championship with two wins in Durrence Layne Weekly Racing Series Week 23 competition. The two wins kept Lane on top of the Street Stock points chase with a best 14-week total of 695 points, five short of a 700-point Perfect Season.

Lane took the Week 23 win on Saturday night at Southern Raceway in Milton, FL driving the Lane Racing Special to net on a 46. Lane followed that up with a Week 11 Make-Up Race win at the Florida Panhandle track on Sunday night to net on a 48.

Baker netted on a 43 after a second-place finish on Saturday night at ECM Speedway in Arkadelphia, AL. Over the remaining six weeks of the 2019 season, the road to 700 points has Lane having to net on a 48, and three 49s. Baker is looking at trying to net on a 47, a 48, and four 49s to reach 700 points.

Hayden Moran of Covington, LA and Eddie Rhinehart of Lawrenceburg, TN are tied for the third spot in the Durrence Layne Performance Parts Street Stock Division standings with a best 14-week total of 685 points. Jeremy Eaton of Wiggins, MS rounds out the top five of the Durrence Layne Performance Parts Street Stock Division standings with a best 14-week total of 681 points. Eaton had a third-place finish on Friday night at Hattiesburg Speedway in Hattiesburg, MS to net on a 42, and then finished second on Sunday night at Southern Raceway to net on a 45.

Drivers racing in Durrence Layne Weekly Racing Series events compete for both a Track point fund and a National point fund. Drivers compete against drivers racing at Durrence Layne Racing sanctioned tracks across the country using a National points system over a 29-week season that concludes on October 13.

A driver’s best 14 weekly point totals count as their season total. Once a driver reaches 14 weeks of competition, they start trying to net points by replacing the lowest weekly total among their best 14 weekly totals with a higher one. A driver can only count their best point total each week as their total for that week.

The top ten drivers in the Durrence Layne Performance Parts Street Stock Division National point standings will earn a seat at the Durrence Layne Racing Annual Awards Banquet to receive a point fund check and a trophy.

In other Durrence Layne Performance Parts Street Stock Division Week 23 action, the 2018 National Champion Ricky Idom of Hattiesburg, MS drove the Tri-State Rock and Rails Special to victory on Friday night at Hattiesburg Speedway.
