I don't know about the laps for heats but if you ran 12 on back in a heat you got $250 since you did not run a b-main. Also they always charged a entry. Back in 2004 and 2005 it was $25 and then it raised until its really out of sight soo bad that regional guys will not go. I say why charge more than $25 just charge $25 and let them pay for a pit pass.

It’s 150 if you pre enter and that includes your 103 dollar pit pass. So 47 dollars to enter 3 nights and get paid all 3 nights no matter what. Lucas races that pay 10k are like 110 to enter , that doesn’t include your pit pass and if you don’t make the show you get like $100.00 . Eldora is the finest best run dirt racing facility on this planet and it gets better every year. Complaint about eldora is like complaining about getting smoked every morning by 1996 Pamela Anderson

Funny thing everybody that loves Eldora is not a local. If you lived around Eldora you would see ever since Tony has bought the track he has turned into a special events track. They hardly race there. The guys that all built cars to race there quit building cars, Late models, Mods and Stock cars. Its all great for the people who show up 2 times a year and say how great Eldora is. Try being 30 minutes from the track and being at least 2 hours away from any late model racing and go the whole summer with your local track ( Eldora) not racing late models all summer. No according to you all we are supposed to bow down to the guy who killed weekly racing in west central Ohio. Im sure Earl is rolling over in his grave. Most of us around here could care less about a jumbo tron or a 80,000 dollar 50-50, it does nothing to provide any racing around here.

Welcome to the new world of seeing 15 to 20 cars at Lucas oil or world of outlaws racing shows. The sport will not grow and hemmorage drivers at an alarming rate without weekly racing.

Agree but tracks running just weekly shows are closing everywhere.

You guys understand this is not the case everywhere? Some tracks are thriving (weekly and big shows) while others are barely staying afloat. Promotion is everything! And treating people fairly.

Most tracks close not because of bad words said about them, but for deserving those bad words said about them.

when Earl had Eldora they ran 2 times a month and they had tremendous car counts for stocks and mods. Then as Tony has gotten into specials only we see the mods and stock cars shrinking and late models as well. Listen back in 2017 when they put all the new safety rules into place we saw a lot of guys stop showing up and running elsewhere. Then the UMP Nationals left in 2018. SAD SAD SAD. What needs to happen is they need to run the World of outlaws but add mods and stocks also run USAC with mods and stocks. Late models use to have 8 to 9 weekends a year there now its 4 or 5 with no rainouts

The cars stopped showing up and then Eldora dropped them, not the other way around from how I saw it. That's the problem most places.
Modifieds are way down on cars, Late Models are in scary shape in most places in the country, street stocks is a dying class in the midwest for sport mods or a limited crate class or both.

The UMP Nationals died because Eldora tried to pay Modified drivers more money and drivers didn't show up, add many years of bad or threatening weather and the event discontinued.

Late Model car counts for a local race type pay ($2,000) got car counts in the low to mid teens while other decent tracks got high teens to low 20's still. So Eldora dropped number of races and added purse to those that remained.

Eldora, Earl or Tony is going to do what is profitable the majority of the time. Some tracks get into trouble because the local economy goes bad and the guys don't run or build cars. Less cars, less fans over time. Track goes broke. I don't know how that part of Ohio is doing, but seemed that cars got scarce so races got reduced, which reduced cars, which reduces races....

    Rain screwed everyone this year.

Get with some folks that race or used to race and iron out a deal to lease Waynesfield and run you about 10 late model, modified, Eldora rule stock car races.

You'll have better chance at the 1/4-3/8 mile.

The cost to run a mega facility like eldora is astronomical compared to a worthless Hell hole like Tyler county. You can’t break even off the back gate at eldora. Fans to not pack the stands to watch mods and street stocks. Running weekly super lates is close to impossible with the money required to race by the current rules. They can’t possibly pay enough to pull enough cars to pull enough fans to make that work. They can’t lose money all year hoping to make it back on the world 100. It’s a business not a hobby. Eldora is not responsible for the out of control body’s and shock packages that allow guys to still run 15 seconds when the track is blowing dust. Yes events like the world still do great but weekly super lates are dying and people are quitting. This is already happening with the crates , Guys want to win and the cost of winning in a crate for 700 to win is also getting astronomical. Same with cadets , the cadets around here are absolutely unlimited , they look like late models , run late model tires and use late model set up technology. Guys get discouraged and quit . Less cars means less fans and eventually it becomes unsustainable. It’s not eldoras fault ....

I think Tony Stewart has done a great job at Eldora an that is why earl sold it to him he wanted it to go on the only thing I don't understand is why they start so early an let the sun get down a little more to help the track. 5
