ADAIRSVILLE, GA – Week 24 of the 2019 Durrence Layne Performance Parts Street Stock Division season saw the top two drivers in the National point standings score victories, the World Street Stock Champ in a three-way tie for the third spot in the standings, and the defending National Champion reach a big milestone in his illustrious racing career.

The Durrence Layne Performance Parts Street Stock Division point leader Mike Lane of Wing, AL drove the Wing Racing Special to his 12th win of the season on Saturday night at Southern Raceway in Milton, FL. Lane was able to net on a 48 to gain two points and bring his best 14-week total to 697 points. Lane will now try to net on a trio of 49s to reach 700 points for a Perfect Season.

Jason Baker of Addison, AL is second in the Durrence Layne Performance Parts Street Stock Division National standings with a best 14-week total of 694 points. Baker took his 11th win of the season on Saturday night at Moulton Speedway in Danville, AL driving the Carden Construction Special to net on a 47 and gain three points. With five weeks left in the season, Baker can still reach the 700 point mark.

The defending Durrence Layne Performance Parts Street Stock World Champion T.J. Herndon of Atwood, TN is in a three-way tie for the third spot of the National point standings with Hayden Moran of Covington, LA, and Eddie Rhinehart of Lawrenceburg, TN. All three drivers have a best 14-week total of 685 points.

Herndon finished third on Saturday night at Camden Speedway in Camden, TN to net on a 40 and climb from seventh and into title contention. Moran was the apparent winner on Saturday night at Greenville Speedway in Greenville, MS, but was disqualified in post-race technical inspection due to a deck height violation, and did not net on a 45. Rhinehart did not compete in Week 24 action.

Drivers racing in Durrence Layne Weekly Racing Series events compete for both a Track point fund and a National point fund. Drivers compete against drivers racing at Durrence Layne Racing sanctioned tracks across the country using a National points system over a 29-week season that concludes on October 13.

A driver’s best 14 weekly point totals count as their season total. Once a driver reaches 14 weeks of competition, they start trying to net points by replacing the lowest weekly total among their best 14 weekly totals with a higher one. A driver can only count their best point total each week as their total for that week.

The top ten drivers in the Durrence Layne Performance Parts Street Stock Division National point standings will earn a seat at the Durrence Layne Racing Annual Awards Banquet to receive a point fund check and a trophy.

The road to the 2019 Durrence Layne Performance Parts Street Stock Division National Championship could make Jackson Motor Speedway in Jackson, MS a busy place this Saturday night, as they will run Double Features. The first feature race will be a Week 22 Make-Up Race, and the second feature will be the regularly scheduled Week 25 race.

In other Durrence Layne Performance Parts Street Stock Division Week 24 action, the 2018 National Champion Ricky Idom of Hattiesburg, MS drove the Tri-State Rock and Rails Special to his 800th career win on Saturday night at Hattiesburg Speedway in Hattiesburg, MS. Wyatt Hill of Finley, TN was the winner at Camden Speedway on Saturday night in the Hill Farms Special.

David Earl Gentry of Murfreesboro, TN took the win on Saturday night at Duck River Raceway Park in Lewisburg, TN driving the WB Motorsports Special. Doug Dodd of Mathiston, MS driving the Dodd Racing Special was awarded the win on Saturday night at Greenville Speedway after Moran’s disqualification.
