ADAIRSVILLE, GA – Week 26 of the 2019 Durrence Layne Weekly Racing Series will see four Durrence Layne Chevrolet Modified Sportsman Division races on the schedule of events. With four weeks to go in the season, just four points separate the top two drivers in the National point standings.

The action begins tonight at Tennessee National Raceway in Hohenwald, TN where the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Modified Sportsman Division will be on the same racing card as the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series, who will compete in a $2,000-to-win 40-lap main event.

There are three races on tap for Saturday night with a Double Feature Race at ECM Speedway in Arkadelphia, AL. The first feature will be a Week 11 Make-Up Race, and the second feature will be the regularly scheduled Week 26 race.

Camden Speedway in Camden, TN will host the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Modified Sportsman Division as a part of their Saturday night show that will also feature a $2,500-to-win 50-lap race for the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series National Tour. Thunderhill Raceway in Summertown, TN will also have the Mod Squad in action on Saturday night.

Luke Riddle of Hartselle, AL is the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Modified Sportsman Division point leader going into Week 26 competition with a best 14-week total of 696 points. Riddle will be trying to net on a 49 for the remainder of the season, which means he has to win a 50-point race in order to gain any National points.

The defending Durrence Layne Chevrolet Modified Sportsman Division National Champion Oakley Gillespie of Five Points, TN is second in the National standings with a best 14-week total of 692 points. Gillespie will be trying to net on a 48 in Week 26 competition.

The battle for the third spot in the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Modified Sportsman Division National point standings is also a tight one, as four points separate third, fourth, and fifth. Tracy Terrell of Russellville, AL is third in the standings with a best 14-week total of 658 points, and he will be trying to net on a 44.

Blake Cross of Centerville, TN is fourth in the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Modified Sportsman Division National standings with a best 14-week total of 656 points. Cross will be trying to net on a 43 in Week 26 action. The fixing of a clerical error has put Seth Johnston of Santa Fe, TN into the fifth spot with a best 14-week total of 654 points, and he will be trying to net on a 43.

Drivers racing in Durrence Layne Weekly Racing Series events compete for both a Track point fund and a National point fund. Drivers compete against drivers racing at Durrence Layne Racing sanctioned tracks across the country using a National points system over a 29-week season that concludes on October 13.

A driver’s best 14 weekly point totals count as their season total. Once a driver reaches 14 weeks of competition, they start trying to net points by replacing the lowest weekly total among their best 14 weekly totals with a higher one. A driver can only count their best point total each week as their total for that week.

The top ten drivers in the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Modified Sportsman Division National point standings will earn a seat at the Durrence Layne Racing Annual Awards Banquet to receive a point fund check and a trophy.
